At first it was not in our requirements to to this wall, but after they had hacked the dividing wall, I realised that the previous wall laid by HDB lacked the integrity. It was partially made of wood and cement. And even then, some parts were sandy and falling off. So I told my hacker to take it down and he just quoted me a straight agreeable sum of $100. Things are starting to fall in place. Electrician has already started to lay the cables and trunking. Gain city came in real quick to install the aircon. Ratings for gain city: Service: 5/5 (we even had one of their guys come down a week before installation to suggest how we can run the aircon trucking coz we need to inform our hacker, they obliged without questions) Efficiency: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Overall: 5/5 * Note: Have to say the in term os pricing wise... we did our homework and realized that by and large... prices are quite controlled. As for inverter or nor or whatever.... we decided to get the Panasonic Inverter system 3, with and upgrade of one unit to have a bigger coil for the living room. We chose the inverter simply because it is quieter and the latest tech. My understanding is that in our day and age, when it comes to anything with technology, always get the latest one. superchrisho 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2011 For air con, our compressor is a 27k BTU. Fancoils: 2x 9k BTU 1x 18k BTU (Living room) Tested the living room one... very nice! Can effectively cool all the way to the kitchen in less than 20mins! Somemore panasonic give $200 NTUC voucher. Our total was $3279.00 Can say it is $3079 coz of the NTUC $200 vouchers rebate. superchrisho 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2011 Painting for living and common room done. Total cost of painting is $1200, inclusive of sealer and 6 colors of paint. (from David) We chose green and yellow theme for the wall colors coz it's a lot brighter and fresher. I didn't like the idea of a totally white place coz white tends to give a grey shade on unlit areas. Also, green and yellow makes the place warmer and cozier. We chose Nippon. Also, the windows are already done. We have done louver naco windows for near the corridor windows and casement windows for the mbedroom, utility and kitchen.
