bepgof 20 Report post Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) Exactly so when watching tv, need place to put the cup mah leg on coffee table? that's the other reason to have coffee table Legs on coffee table stuff was before having children, otherwise set bad example Hot drink must be finished while it is still hot... Once you have kid/s, you'll not put hot coffee/tea on coffee table- once shake, liquid spill over.... and you'll either "protect" sharp corners with "protectors", or repeat lesson like BK888 did. Those furmitures at ikea & Scantek have 90 deg sharp corners. I gave up on Scantek's teak funitures for these corners. I purposely have heavy dinning table with big legs, accidentally shake or knock, liquid will not spill over... Side track a bit for dinning space, I'm very particular about this, I prefer to have a comfortable and big enough space while dinning...I've excused myself with "reasons" on the spot during wedding dinners a few times when i found the dinning space (tables & chairs) is out of my "comfort zone", I simply can't allow myself being "squeezed" there for a few hours, all mood spoilt liao.....Happy occassion should be enjoyed with happy mood. Well .. maybe my coffee-table would be converted to smthg else, some side-table at some corner maybe. My side table has no sharp-corners, all from wood I agree with dining table. I always think it's weird that many ppl is ok with small dining table. There's once I went to a fren's place for dining. After all the food being put on the table, almost no space to eat the food. Very cramp. Now my dining table is considered long, though only 1.8m.
