Though surprised that none of the Jade Springer post here yet. my floorplan! Standard size for 4room flat. Congrats getting your unit soon!! notice that, on your floorplan, the household shelter is on the left side of the door, instead of in the centre of the unit (at the space beside the WC and the kitchen). I think your layout is better. If you change the opening of your kitchen to somewhere at the top wall, u can actually have a small foyer area, just after your entrance. Looks gd. I beg to differ, I would rather have a long dining + TV area. Now bcos of the shelter, the dining + TV area becomes 'L' shape. Nothing with this ofcse, still veri easy to plan but just tat given a choice, I would prefer the elongated shape. In my opinion, if the door of the kitchen remained at where it is now, the small corridor space between the shelter and the kitchen will be 'wasted'. Best to shift to its very end so a good size shoe cabinet can stil be squeezed in. Peace out
footprint 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) ya, with this layout, there's no place for me to put my shoe cabinet. Been thinking of hacking the walls, to make the kitchen area looks bigger, but the fact will be doing a considerable amt of cooking, thus drop that idea. so yes, layout remain unchanged, with a glass door at entrance of kitchen. due to budget constraint, not doing very fancy reno but basic one. My sis's getting her SERS flat later half of this yr and in her floorplan (similar to this), but the household shelter is in the centre, and it's non-hackable. She wanted to partition somewhere in the living room (maybe with half-height wall and glass panel) as a small study area/room, but can't do it. The space seems like a gd area (275cm x 190cm). I guess ultimately, it depends on footprint's lifestyle and how he would like to use the space. Personally I prefer the unhackable household shelter at the corner, rather than at the end of the unit; kind of limits space planning. yeah. peace out.
