xshite 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) Recently changed the cast iron pipes in my 30y/o flat to PVC, but it seems that the water flowing sound is more disturbing. As it's undergoing renovation now, my ID is going to box it up soon, so I need solutions quite urgently. Is this product (or eqv.) selling anywhere in SG? Need it quite urgently... http://www.soundprooffoam.com/pipe-soundproofing.html http://www.acousticalsource.com/how-to-wrap-a-pipe.html She's not very knowledgable in this aspect, what are the (other) usual ways to reduce the pipe sounds huh? TIA to any replies... Edited December 21, 2010 by xshite

Soichiro 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2010 Ask your ID to find out from her plumbers who should be more experienced in this. She should try to help you contact people who are experienced enough. Even if you can find, you still need to install. Worst thing that can happen is... the installation cannot make it and you already boxed up the pipes! That said, u can also try calling the local DIY shops and see if they have such products. Lastly... since it is gonna be boxed up, maybe won't be so noisy le? Is she nuts? Either that, or she's trying to profiteer... basket. Yar, agree with you. That's why I wanna make sure I over-compensate to reduce the sounds now, esp the MBR piping as my fiancee is a light sleeper. My 1st time renovating, I hope so as well. *fingers crossed* PS: diamdiam... really lives up to his nick, lol. Edited December 23, 2010 by xshite
