Confidential 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2012 really hate the kitchen floor colour <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bangwall.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="bangwall.gif" /> should have cement screeded the kitchen, just flash across my mind after seeing how not matching the colour of kitchen floor tiles are.didn't wanted to overlay, so never thought of alternatives, but the cement screed idea just came out suddenly. abit late <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleepgo.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sleepgo.gif" /> add on to shopping list : today went sim siang choon to buy some toilet accessories. (paper holder, towel bar, towel hooks, corner glass shelves)went to changi south ave 2 outlet, definately the most complete showroom for toilet stuff we've visited so far.service : didn't require. we shop around, mark down item no. then check out at counter. self-service <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />Just curious, is your house a new house from HDB? Do they allow you to hack away the toliet and kitchen floorings to put your own?

A BIG Apology to those who asked questions after my last post, (if you are still here ) i assume you don’t need my answers anymore.
ultraj26 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2018 Technology has advanced sooo much. Even before we collected keys, we are in a facebook group and groupchat with thousands of neighbours. You know your neighbours even before you meet them Our reno journey this time round started with a close friend suggested us engaging her brother to do up our house and supported that idea with her house was done by her brother as well. As usual I have many ideas and more or less knew what I wanted, no harm engaging someone related to someone we are close to where we can negotiate for better quality work. Quick summary of ID/Contractor meet up experiences. Registered interest on renotalk, met 3 IDs recommended but were either not very interested or showed no value-add to my ideas. Met our friend’s brother twice to discuss my requirements, but guess he was really busy cos he will take 3-4 days to reply my messages. Chopped him off and call Jason! (beloved contractor of my 1st home) Jason is no longer with Innerview and has started a company and its 1 man show. His first questions were how much work needs to be done and how soon I need it to be ready as he has a few projects on hand. He arranged to view my new place, take measurements before giving me a quote. Meeting up with him brought back great memories with his experiences he provided valuable feedback and I know my place is in good hands. BUT... Jason drop me a text the same day evening apologising he is not able to take up my job as he is worried he can’t deliver on time. Oh no Anyway while waiting to confirm a contractor, I’ve been following my neighbours reno works they share in the group chat. I concluded that all I needed was an electrician, painting services and a carpenter. so.. i decided just go ala carte, arrange the works myself. Still thankful that Jason is upfront that he cannot deliver rather then me having to find a place to stay when we need to handover our current place. So definitely i will still recommend him if anyone needs his contact.
