What should the depth be after adding wirings and power socket. I'm also going to make a TV Console, to fit an Onkyo amplifier. a good depth would be at least 40 cm. I'm not sure what you mean by power socket though, shouldnt that be outside?
january 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2010 Mine has the power socket inside; it's 50cm deep.
neubie 2 Report post Posted December 14, 2010 Also take note of the height, as some amp/avr can get quite hot so heat dissipation maybe a problem if u cover the front panel.

I'm not sure what you mean by power socket though, shouldnt that be outside? Different Onkyk amps have different depth... The higher end models are much larger and deeper. Need to consider the type of wires connected to the rear. Optic fibre, hdmi and subwoofer connector need much larger clearance at the rear...especially if the wire outlet is narrow and wires need to converge in a short span of distance. For my onkyo 708, I went for a 50cm depth console open front and rear for ventilation and clearance. The tough part is searching for such a off the shelf console as most are just too narrow and shallow. Edited December 15, 2010 by vratenza
