payton 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2010 After reading so many t-blogs drooling at the nice pictures and transformation of the homes, am glad to be able to start one to share and document the renovation process. Hope I would have the determination to keep updating the t-blog though.. lol To start off with, here’s our floor plan. It’s a resale EA with floor area of 144sqm. We were a bit kiasu and started looking for IDs/Contracts since June 2010 although renovation can only start in early Jan 2011. Have sourced over 10 IDs/Contractors. The process was tiring yet fun at the same time. We even started looking at furnishings/tiles/sanitary fittings way before we select our ID hahaha. Am glad to have finally confirmed our ID recently ^-^ Basically we would be doing a major overhaul of the unit and converting the study room to a bedroom. Hope to be able to get some valuable advises/ideas from the forumers here as we go along Here are some of the current pics of the flat taken when we went house viewing. Living Room Will be hacking the balcony to extend the living area. Shoe Cabinet/Store Room Master Bath & Common Bath

gakuseisean 4 Report post Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) Hi I don't mean to shoot you down in any way but perhaps you might like to consider something like this for your TV feature wall: Or Its definitely less trendy, and a lot more functional. That way, 5 to 10 years down the road, it won't look dated, and it's definitely still useful. Edited December 5, 2010 by gakuseisean
january 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2010 Bedroom 2 [ Study (Converting to Bedroom) Does every room have the "in-wall" storage area? That's soo useful! as for your TV console, I think the design isn't very functional and would cost quite some money to make... you may want to rethink it. Anyway, ours is just a prelimanary drawing. Might end up not having feature wall.

That's soo useful! as for your TV console, I think the design isn't very functional and would cost quite some money to make... you may want to rethink it. Thanks for the feedback. I understand your concern and know where you are coming from. But being a design freak, I always wanted something that looks clean and sleek. Having lots of storage space in TV feature wall is good, but it will make the place looks messier. Anyway, we have not decided on the design of the tv feature and console. Maybe at the end of the day, we might even do without one And Yes! We have that recess storage cabinet below the window. However, the dept of the cabinet is only 350mm.
