whitefantasy 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2011 Panasonic change a new set of compressor for us on 22/03/11 but still with humming & drumming sound. So last wk co-inspection with both technicians, supervisor and manager from Gain City & Panasonic they say is b'cos we using old pipings & the MBR old piping size is bigger, so wanted us to change all 3 rooms to new pipings. To do that Gain City will charge us S$750. I think it is quite ridiculously as they cannot try to pass all the faults to us who is the consumer. The reasons why i say that will be explained as follows :- 1) We went to Compass Point branch & being served by Mr Haslan. On the spot we told him very clearly that our previous masterbedroom fan coil unit is 12KBTU and if it is ok to reuse pipings and also will there be any problems to reuse pipings as we don't want to save on the mere rebate of S$150 from total to create more problems. But Mr Haslan say so far no complains on reusing pipings, so we trusted his words.2) On the day installation, the technicians did not mention a thing that the masterbedroom old pipings thickness is bigger that the panasonic fancoil & just go ahead with the installation. When later problems arises, we ask the technicians why they never highlight to us is different piping. They say usually no problems lor..... if got problem then ask customers change pipings. After Mr Haslan call me yesterday & inform me their charge is S$750 we were displeased with it. Of course we don't expect not to pay anything but it is so bad of them trying to push all responsiblities back to us and Mr Haslan denied got the impression that we told him abt our masterbedroom 12KBTU. We do remember very clearly telling him that and also in order to rebate the S$40 checking fees for purchasing from them, Mr Haslan photostat a copy of the invoice and the remarks written clearly by the technician 12KBTU. whitefantasy 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2011 Now the part on Panasonic technicians on the day of co-inspection. They did a mob of using the correct piping size to the fancoil unit and their conclusion is that we must change the pipings as they say incorrect or old pipings might cause sound of the compressor to travel to & fro the pipes. Before they arrive, the sound from the compressor belongs to medium low pitch humming & drumming sound. After they fixed back the orginal pipings install by Gain City, in abt 5 mins after they left the compressor sound with a high pitch whistling & whining sound all the way w/o stopping surrounding the room even in daytime and not to mention in the quiet night. We quickly call panasonic techicians thinking if they are able to detour back to check if anything not fixed correctly coz the problems become more serious after the dismantle. But to our disappointment over the phone the supervisor told us if dismantle in & out will cause to have more sound and there is nothing they can do. See this is the kind of service we get from using their system which is so fragile that if got complains, problems will not be solved but it will create more problems out after they do the checking etc.
