Recommended Posts

Does anybody have any contacts for CCTV installers?

What's the price range for one?

I'm exploring the option of installing one in my living room.

Dear all,

I just installed 2 CCTV with recording in my HDB flat.

- 2 cameras (can see clearly even in darkness) (@ S$95 each)

- 2 connecting cables (10m) (@ S$18 each)

- 1 recorder (with network function for viewing with mobile phone or any computer) (@ S$400)

- Installation (lay cables for 2 points) (@ S$120)

- Network setup for mobile monitoring ( still unknown but max is S$150 - according to the shop that sells these products )

Notes: I paid $650 for the equipments from a shop at Level 2 Sim Lim Square. ( Just next to the elevator - you cannot miss it )

Good luck to all!

Hi lsf77,

Thank you for sharing :)

I would be most grateful if u could address the following questions I have pertaining to your installation.

1) R ur cameras dome cameras? Bullet cameras?

2) How many years of warranty do u have for the entire set-up?

3) Country of origin for cameras & DVR?

4) R the cables encased in conduits - those rounded plastic trunking to prevent tampering of cables?

5) Does your DVR come with any "fans" i.e. to cool off the DVR which will be turned on 24 by 7 ?

6) Where is your DVR located at? In your room or in the living room?

7) Does your DVR emit any sounds of "engine" or motor that's common with even the PC when it's turned on or is it silent?

8) Does your installation require any forms of hacking of the wall to create a hole for the conduit to run through to the next room?

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi lsf77,

Thank you for sharing :)

I would be most grateful if u could address the following questions I have pertaining to your installation.

1) R ur cameras dome cameras? Bullet cameras?

=> 1/2 sphere shape CCD camera.

2) How many years of warranty do u have for the entire set-up?

=> 1 year (i think) on equipments.

3) Country of origin for cameras & DVR?

=> Taiwan

4) R the cables encased in conduits - those rounded plastic trunking to prevent tampering of cables?

=> Cables are inside normal data cable trunking. Was told data cable cannot mix with electrical cables.

5) Does your DVR come with any "fans" i.e. to cool off the DVR which will be turned on 24 by 7 ?

=> Have not setup DVR as TV has not arrived but maybe no as mine was a small design DVR. (my console is not big for the normal DVR-$280)

6) Where is your DVR located at? In your room or in the living room?

=> I am renovating the house, so i can re-design to place all equipments at one place - TP, RJ45, TV, DVR.

7) Does your DVR emit any sounds of "engine" or motor that's common with even the PC when it's turned on or is it silent?

=> During testing by the vendor, no "engine" sound emitted.

8) Does your installation require any forms of hacking of the wall to create a hole for the conduit to run through to the next room?

=> If users wanted to lay into rooms, then may need some drilling to enable the wires to be routed around.

Thanks in advance! :)
