How To Install An Ikea Ceiling Light On Hdb Wires?

I am trying to install a simple ikea ceiling light fixture but am confused by the wiring. I need to use 2 of the wires, but which two? And what do I do with the third?

usually lights use the Live (brown) and Neutral (blue) wires. The earth (yellow-green) wire can be left unconnected, but if can, connect to the metal chassis of the fixture.

if that case, get a LEW/electrician to verify ur connections, since it does not appear to conform to current standards.

Yellow = Live

Black = Neutral

Green = Earth

You see 2 of each wires is perhaps due to daisy chain. 1 set of cable is incoming (1 green, 1 yellow + 1 black) from main or elsewhere, while the other set of cable is tap to another place.

Just hook up your Ikea light cable to the 2 sets of cable together and it should work.
