Honeygal 1 Report post Posted November 20, 2010 Noticed 2 small grey black patches on bathroom mirror after moving in for 2 months. Then realised these patches have been getting bigger and spreading. Any idea what the cause is and how to remove them? The patches are on a part of the mirror where no water touches.
january 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2010 Similar thing happened to me before. It could be mould, which is a sign that there's either: 1. a leak in the bathroom. 2. poor ventilation in your bathroom.
muffin 2 Report post Posted November 21, 2010 It seems more like a mould to me, do u have a pic of these black patch?
Honeygal 1 Report post Posted November 21, 2010 the patch comes from behind. i can see that it is not on the mirror. i was told it has to do with inferior quality of the back piece causing a chemical reaction.
therat 18 Report post Posted November 21, 2010 did any shower cream, body cream, soap happen to touch it? Like during washing face the water touch on it, etc
cruise 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2010 From experience I noticed such spots tend to appear if you wash your mirror with soap / detergent. Once I stopped such cleaning agent on my new mirror I dont see it happening again. Just clean mirror with water and wipe will do. Avoid any chemical contact on mirror. siaoboy 4 Report post Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) it could be the adhesive used at the back of the mirror. It slowly penetrate to the front causing black patch Edited December 20, 2010 by siaoboy
