Extreme Makeover @ Pandan Gardens

To make the best out of the worst situation, the side door can only open to the left and align it with the side beam!!

While helping client/ owner to tilt door, I have to be careful not to see the 'pointed edge' of walls, etc, when tilting the door. I also need to ensure that the Hexagram reading falls in the auspicious line on the 64 Hexagram, to be favourable to the male owner!!

Adjusting the reading on Luo Pan to owner's auspicious direction!!

So, it only takes common sense to fulfil this feng shui audit! No need to 'fly' the stars and other forumula.

Is your electrician from the ID company you engaged?

I'd be getting my new flat - built & design, so basically all done up. Requires extra lighting points/ power points and thinking of connecting LAN cables into the rooms like you have done. Would you recommend your electrician? If so, mind to share (or pm) his contact & the cost in break down?

Betw, the connection guide you've shared have been absolutely helpful, thanks! <img src="http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Hi, singabox

I would strongly recommend my electrician, but he is not from the ID company.

Look at how careful he installed the chandelier lights for my dining area...I was there the whole afternoon watching how he meticulously installed these crystals and lights....

He is a Malaysian, and I understand he will stop work by next weekend and return after CNY. I will PM you his contact number.

Hi Ya, Your t-blog is quite interesting. I am also in need of the contact details of your electrician. can you please post to me with your cost break down on electrical charges as well?

To a forumer who PM'ed me the questions about patch panel, RJ45 jack split, etc.

Here are the photos to show how my Cat 6 cables are run for the fibre network for entire house.

1. In this photo, the black cable is the fibre optic cable waiting for termination by OpenNet. The yellow ones are Cat 6 cables for connecting to each port.

3. The Terminal Box, Modem and router with connections ready. The yellow Cat 6 cables should be shorter. :P

4. This photo is the terminal point in my MBR. The same setting for all other rooms.

Hi Mae29,

Can check wif u if yr youngest son is still using the Xclusive mattress? I am considering to buy for my twins boys too. How much u bought? I am looking for queen size though..

For yr cooking stove, I saw that it's on the right hand corner, does it obstruct yr cooking? Any obstacles u faced? Tks!

Hi, sister angel

Nice to see you here again! Just visited your blog and seems like your reno is progressing well! :thumbs up:

Wow...your TWIN boys!! :sport-smiley-003:

My youngest son is happily sleeping on that piece of mattress bought from Xclusive Home. I remembered it was $1800 for the complete set with the bedframe.

For the stove, you mean the knob on the right hand corner? There is sufficient space for fingers to reach and no problem or hindrance at all.

You are also getting those hob with knobs on the side?

Sis Mae Mae...tks for always being so nice n kind! Saw u visited my blog too!

I am like u...also all the men at home! We r the queen! :sport-smiley-003:

My boys wanted queen size bed n I think I gg broke soon! Now shortlisted abt 2k each bed but must with storage as their room r small..Praying hard tat I can match my budget...

I am using electric cooker- only 2 stove so I guess should b alright. I put it at side cos I wanted flip up top cabinets...Aiya..I dun like to put in middle as the 350mm space each side is sort of not spacious for me...Can put wat???

Now it's the open net issues which r driving me nuts! They told me they need a height of 14inch to place inside tv console? For yrs, can u measure yr height? Also for yr RJ45panel, is it u got 4ports in living room then also 1RJ45 panel(1-2)ports in each room? My hubby's fren is helping to run n I wanted to make sure it's right...Pardon me for being dumb dumb...

Sigh...Reno really sooooo tedious when I admit I am rather a perfectionist...Tks ya for all yr help!

Dear sister

It is money worth spending for getting a good mattress! I remember how guilty I felt when my children were sleeping on a piece of cheap mattress without proper back support., and can feel the spring coils!!

My small console to hide the Openet cables and thingy has 12" clearance and the box is movable. So, if they want to do any investigating or maintenance, I can take away the box.

Yes, for the RJ45 panel, what you see in my living room (inside that white box) is 4 ports for 4 rooms, and each room has One permanent port with a spare one for future connection. I guess you have better understanding than me...I am really blur as I can't even answer to forumer when they PM'ed me on this topic, but to show the pictures. It was an IT friend who helped me with this Openet thing during my renovation.

Hope this helps.

Tks again Sis Mae! Been following yr blog quite closely...

I must compliment that yr hse looks great! I learnt alot from yr blog n even fengshui tips though I am not superstitious! U really r such a capable woman with many brilliant ideas! To handle 2 boys r handful and not to mention that u r handling 3 on yr own! I salute u!

Where did u get yr small console? I might buy it for my sons to use it in their bedroom as side table. Can cover the aircon trunking too! How much is it?

I also intended to do suspended study table for my twins. May I know what is the study table height? I am concerned that my twins will b too tall n when they get up or sit down, the drawers will hit their leg...I believe that yr sons should b quite tall so I like to ask u to help me to measure again...from the floor to the drawers. As mine will b built under the windows, height also quite limited so I am thinking to forgo if necessary...

Tks alot for helping me to ans all my dummy questions!

hi, sister Angel

 Thanks for your compliment!

Actually, I didn't spend much time with my children when they were young. It was the maid who looked after them while I focused on my career prior to our marriage hit the rock! :~

The small console to hide the cables was constructed by the carpenter. I recalled it was FOC from ID.

The height of study table is 35" high, excluding the drawer. Need to be mindful of chairs though...I bought chairs without the arm rest, to avoid hitting the drawers.

Sis Mae Mae,

U r already doing GREAT as a mum! I happen to read abt yr ordeal in another topic so I roughly know..

For me, I knw it's a blessing but marriage really needs both parties to work hard together to keep the sparks flying.. We hv some disagreement during Reno too..

On a side note, I strongly agree tat woman needs to b independent n hv their own career! Ha..I am one really tough cookie too!

I really appreciate how much u contributed n advise in Renotalk.. At least I find real frens here! Looking forward to meet u n MAYB can enlighten some fengshui to me for my career leh...lol.. Tks again ya!

This is the office of one of my good friend which I helped to audit.

Look at the entrance to the office unit which has a beam cutting through width of main door. Previous owners had closed one-third of the door (right side) and used only two-third opening (left side).

grq5_571_uc4it.jpg

grq5_02a_uc4it.jpg

Worst of all, immediately facing the front entrance is the spiral staircase to basement carpark and store-room!! You can see the picture of glass enclosure which I suggested to block Qi from rushing downwards:

j8e0_7eb_uc4it.jpg

On the right side of door opening is some steps!!

grq5_4da_uc4it.jpg

To fully open up and tap the incoming Qi, I have to recommend the owner to tilt the side door!!

grq5_6b3_uc4it.jpg

To be continued in next post.

Hi Sis Mae29,

You are indeed a FS master. LOL

Talking about FS, saw that you using the Luo Pan from Joeyyap.

Regarding flying star and the building period: Joey Yap school says that the building period will change if the house is vacant for 100 days. I have bought my unit since Feb this year and have only started reno this month. Will it be considered house period 8 or house period 7?
