Extreme Makeover @ Pandan Gardens

Recommended Posts

Today, the solid surface contractor is coming to seal up the gas hob and repolish the top for me. I guess it must be very dusty hor? :P

Anyway, I thank my ID for going extra miles to help me repolish the solid surface due to my rash act. I will explain this in detail later today. ;)

This is what happened to my 2 months old solid surface top:

Just a week before the soup spilled incident, I spotted 3 drops of super glue stains on the solid surface when I came home in the evening. Asked my youngest son, he said not him. Asked my second son if he had used super glue, he also said NO. So the culprit must be the eldest son, who hasn't come home yet.

Furious, I reached for the knife & madly scrapped the glue spots trying to remove the hardened stain. Besides not removing the glue stain, the solid surface top was badly scratched. This is how the solid surface got scratches & stains. :(

When my eldest son came home, he denied flatly!

However, on the next day, while washing his long pants, I saw a glue spot on it. :fire:

So, when his girlfriend overcooked the soup, my temper really hit the boiling point & can't hold my anger but to release at him & his gf. :(

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

Good to experience "killing fields" when young which grows confidenc for all trades later on. Bitter then come sweet. Did not follow yr blog closely. I've been to Sembawang, Keppel SYs, once "sunset" industries have become "sun rise", almost all oil refineries in Jurong island, shell bukom.....offshore platforms. Attended disaster control courses. Witnessed a few major industries accidents.

Quick ones:

- Good habits need to be cultivated when young. The 3 darlings seem....??Wash cloth, mopping, cleaning, boiling water...???

- Water dispenser is convenience, for long term, beware of "stones" in body.

- Over attention to "directions" add unecessary mental stress.

That's why it is tough for a mother at this stage worrying for children what is best for them.

Most people thought that once our children are grown up, we will have less worry...but reality is always far from dream!

When they were younger, parents came home unhappy, they became worry.

But when they have grown up, we worry for them instead.

Bro, actually I'm referring to this blog here, with all the 'chap pa lang' topics :paint:

I intend to create my own blog, specifically for Chinese Metaphysics only, but as my BaZi profile, I am still thinking where to create one: on this reno talk under My Blog, Facebook, or elsewhere. The same problem again - still THINKING

For the timebeing, I will continue to blog here....

By the way, I saw the marble table you bought from X'clusive Home. I guess I know which table you bought - the rectangular one with rounded corners. There is one picture I saw somewhere in this forum. If I saw it again, I 'steal' & show you ok?

Hi, Bro bepgof

I am so happy to see you dropping by, and as usual, your advice is truly commendable. :)

About my 3 darlings, not sure if I have mentioned it somewhere, they are without a complete family at young age. When parents divorced, children become the victim & most neglected. At that time, both elder & second son were at a maleable age, easily influenced by bad company. We are blessed that our children were well behaved: elder son was addicted to cybergaming, but not so bad as he earned some money from prize money & was quite well known in the gaming arena, and represented Singapore in many overseas tournament (he likes to play counter-strike). Now, he is trying hard to build up his career in direct marketing (credit cards) - early morning before I even woke up, he already left the house by 6:00am, and by the time he came home, it is nearly midnight. Besides training & recruiting his team members, he has to plan & organise their schedule.

No annual leave, no bonuses. Don't even have offdays...after field works, when all his team leaders & executives packed up & go home, my elder son has to go back to office for paperwork. So, when he comes home, I leave him alone to rest, don't want to nag at him.

Second son, being 2 years younger than his sibling, was determined to excel in his study & he did make the family proud of him. Infact, the reason why he took up Maritime & Offshore Technology course when he completed his 'O' level, was to quickly make good income for parents, as he knew at that point in time, his late father had already contracted late stage cancer. Being a very filial son, his only ambition is study well & make good $$$.

These 2 years when they returned to stay with me after their late father passes away, I am trying my best to be their good mother, doing the household chores that I have never done for them before.

As for youngest son, he is the most pampered one; I got his custody & all the while, it was the maid who was taking care of this little prince, until 4 years ago when I was really frustrated with one maid & henceforth, did not renew any maid after that.

At home, the most the children did was to tidy their own room. I don't expect them to mop or do washing.

So, you see, different mother have different priority at home. These are the chores I am happy to do when I'm retiring in a few years time, when both elder & second sons are successful in their career.

My wish is to see them happy with their choice of career.

Very funny, two days ago I received a pm from Straits Time reporter X who saw this reno blog & asking the same request as the reporter M who approached me last month for my contribution to 'My Space' weekly column.

I initially thought they were from the same team, because when that lady reporter M approached me earlier, it was scheduled for March publication. However, due to space constraint, the column stopped for couple of weeks, and our slot is postponed to April. So, when the other reporter X contacted me 2 days ago, I thought they have resume the weekly column.

Today, when I received 2 separate PM from them, I then realized it was a duplication & explained it to the reporter X.

I have confirmed to Reporter M to send the photographer for the shot on next Friday afternoon.

Will let you know the publication date of my contribution to ST's column.

oh man i think i've gotten a PM from reporter X b4 CNY but totally forgot about it... :o

but anyway, hubby not used to being so "public", so he said unless our faces don't appear on the paper, then okie (this i think it's impossible, rite?).

Thank you, Bro bepgof

I used to give him praises whenever he tells me his achievements.

Now, I must pass these words to him. :)

Continued from above:

It is nice to have the solid surface top repolished....but it is quite dusty when they were grinding the top:

dt9e_4b4_uc4it.jpg

It all started with an sms to my ID about the little incident in the kitchen and I told my ID I want the hob to be sealed up.

I really salute to my ID for his diligence and initiative. Whenever I complained anything to my ID, he will always replied "OK, Will do". This time round, perhaps he sensed the 'explosive' in me, he followed up with another message: "Dun worries. Your wish is my demand".

Then, I started to let him know the scratches on solid surface.

It never crossed my mind that I will bother my ID to get the workshop re-polished. When my ID had arranged with the contractor to seal the hob, he told me that he had asked the contractor to repolish the kitchen worktop for me!

Woah, really a very responsible ID who cares alot for his 'creation', although he has successfully handed over the project on time to me.

Sis Jupiter

I count myself lucky that my ID is a very responsible person and take pride in his work. Most of time, he will remember to sms & remind me when he sent back the contractor.

See another messages here....

kjya_146_uc4it.jpg

The message on 19-Mar to send the carpenter Ah Long to silicon the TV console after our electrical PE inspection is passed. Then, on house warming day, I showed him a faulty hinge and he remembered to inform the carpenter.

The message on 21-Mar is the one which he asked the wallpaper guy (not curtain guy) to use up the balance wallpaper he found in my store room when he came for house warming. As the wallpaper is not under his scope, he even asked them back and remind me not to pay the contractor. :)

Just :good::good::good: for my Mr ID.
