The Verdict for the International Buffet we ordered for housewarming:

It is a truly unique and distinctive buffet experience..an emphasis is placed on the setting up of buffet spread with centre piece of flower in vase on the tables which they provided.

My verdict:

Food selection - wide selection of food from their International Menu. So far, not many caterers provide such range of International buffet spread. The cold station with the salad, sausages was good. I would rate it 8/10

Pricing - value for money if you are looking for something unique, but comparing with the food, I would rate it 6/10.

Taste - Not that fantastics. The seafood fried rice was cold, hard and dry. Tasteless. The only veggie dish was the cauliflower & broccoli which were cut in big chunk!! Besides this, the seafood scallop & chicken in teriyaki sauce are worth recommending. Overall, I would rate it 6.5/10

Quality - the food was very cold when arrived, especially the fried stuff which lost its crispiness. Even they came one hour early to do the pre-setting, the food wasn't heated up warm enough when our guests arrived. Nevertheless, the salmon was fresh... can score 7/10 on food quality.

Service - yes, friendly staff and they informed me when they finished clearing up the table at the end of the day. 8/10.

I would mull over it if I wanted to engage them for a second time.

The food menu looks yummy to me :)

Remember to take some pics of the food and share them with us. A verdict will be nice :)

Have a joyous and fun housewarming party, Mae! :dancingqueen:

The Sad Moment and the UNTOLD TRUTH!!

Sharing here are the saddest moments where memories will never be forgotten!

First incident:

Remember in one of my progress update, I wrote about the floor tiler, an old man, who was sacked for bad workmanship? He was asked to leave on that very eventful day when I blow my top over his lousy workmanship and carelessness!!!

Well, I am proud that my house was beautifully done up, and I have a good and responsible ID who helped to resolve and settle all the problems for me. Somehow, when I recalled the renovation process, I can't help blaming myself for being quick tempered and indirectly caused the old man to lost his job on the spot!!

Nevertheless, I did pay a price as I have hurt my fingers badly when I used my bare hand to knock on the tiles one by one to check if they are hollow underneath! Look at these pictures....my both hands were swollen for almost one week!

grq4_7a2_uc4it.jpg

When the tiler boss tried to challenge me, I asked them to break the tile to confirm it, witnessed by the Project Manager and my ID.

grq4_061_uc4it.jpg

That old man was also very careless...within 2 days after he laid the floor tiles, he also scratched few pieces of the floor tiles when he dragged the cutting blades in front of my presence....

to be continued...

continued from the above:

2nd incident:

The group of painters which I have feedback to the ID firm, and probably they are already blacklisted on their contactor list! The Project Manager came for a 2nd time, to see the awful job done by that lousy team of Malay painters! I do feel guilty again for being too nasty with them over my stringent quality check!

Also posted in one of my thread here, my hardworking ID had to call his neighbour friends for help to touch up the painting for 4th time, when all contractors had stopped work just days before the CNY.

During one of the recent house visit, ID came with his Project Manager for final assessment of their workmanship.

Most of the time, he is the person who came silently to cover up the tasks by himself....including buying the cleaning stuffs to clean & mop my house during renovation! Overall, I am happy with Donny's performance and his speedy response to rectification works.

I would highly recommended his service to anyone who is seeking for a good and reliable ID.

Thanks for sharing, Mae. By the way, how much did you pay for the buffet??

The buffet is $16 per pax, without drinks, X 30 pax.

Fruit punch drink is $1.50 per pax.

They charge additional $40 for transport & delivery.

Plus GST

I have also ordered satay from Asli, Sataysfaction. Initially I ordered online from City Satay, but they deliver for dinner, from 5-7pm only. Our buffet is for lunch, so I cancelled the order & placed with Asli. I can only say it is edible; nothing fantastic though.

Sushi tray & sashimi were ordered from Sakae Sushi, very convenient, just one call & they delivered within 60 mins.

Hihi,

Where did you get the remote from? Able to control all types of lightings?

Any additional charges during installation for the remote?

Thanks.

My electrician got it for me when I told him I want the remote control switch for lights. Yes, he charged extra because there is special wiring to be done.

Yes, it can control all kind of lights!

Now, I have downlights & T5 lights in 3 different control pattern.

My previous lights were those bulbs type...and I also have remote control for the switch.

I was at nearby neighbourhood market and saw this door sign hung outside one TCM shop. I ordered the MK8 golden oval shape @ $38 for my unit and placed it on the main door.

Poor thing, Mae.

Your QC was very stringent! Pls use a coin to tap on the tiles instead.

I have tried to use all kind of props from hammer, metal object, wooden bar, etc, but I still find using my knuckles is better as I can clearly distinguish hollow and solid concrete.

I will be creating another reno-blog soon...for my sister!

Hahaha....I also cannot imagine how my knuckles will look like! May be have to chop off the right middle finger?!!

But it won't be that severe bah? How big is typical EM floor area? My floor area is 117m2, so 25% more severe than what I had suffered?
