A reporter from The Sunday Times incharge of the weekly column "My Space" saw my blog asked if I am interested to have my house being featured.:)

I guess it will be featured in March 2011....stay tuned!

That's a detailed study and an interesting conclusion! May I know what is a virtual pool (VP)?? A virtual water pond? And why are the playground and the covered walkway considered as virtual pools?

I noticed that two of your bedrooms doors are facing each other. Did your FSM advise you to put a row of copper coins above one of the doors? :)

Recently, I took the compass reading at the center of my house and plotted the 24 mountains. Then I went around the house with a compass and noticed that there are some reading deviations in some of the rooms (cause by the building pillars and beams), such that some of the readings do not match with the plotted 24 mountains. Which readings should I follow?

Taking the facing direction of HDB flats is always a controversial issue. Different Masters have different opinions; some based on the facade which has more Yang energy, whilst some based on which side the building was built to face, while some others will take facing from the lift lobby as Qi mouth. Then, there are some masters who will take house door entrance as facing direction to plot the house natal chart.

My block is a point block, and you know most HDB flats, especially newer blocks, have almost identical facing / facade.

All the while, as I studied under Master JY, I used the side of building facing the carpark & temple which has more Yang energy as house facing. This is also in consideration that the sitting of our unit is in the kitchen, more Yin, compared to the original Living room which faces the carpark & temple which is more Yang.

Now, following the new opening of Lift B, and the fact that we are changing completely the Living room, and also the important fact which the Master considered, is that the floor plan of our unit is shaped like 'arm chair' formation when you see from the main entrance. This is supported by the true fact that there is mountain in NE direction, the back of our unit, and the reservoir in front of our Main door direction.

the FSM asked to hang a huge Luo Pan, 2 feet x 2 feet, ordered since September 2010, and should arrive any moment now, to hang in the central of our house, after he made some 'adjustments'.

Hi, CoffeeMan

Virtual Pool is virtual water, and playground and intersection of busy walkways have Yang energy where we can tap.

Bedrooms facing each other - I have a downlight placed in the walkway.

Take readings once only, from the centre of the house. So, always take the base house chart when demarcating the rooms.

The Extreme Makeover Series - Before & After Photographs:

The Dining Area

Before the makeover:

An oblong table with 4 chairs.

grq4_4fa_uc4it.jpg

As mentioned in earlier post, I like to shift things around the house every now and then, not only for feng shui reason, but I can get sick of seeing the same layout & furnitures. Seen here is the picture of the the old chairs (actually bought over a year before the renovation) dressed up during the last CNY when I was about to discard them away!

Further, the suspended lights which have squarish box was also removed by me when I tried to dismantle them for spring cleaning. In the end, I find this bare & exposed bulbs unique and just leave them as seen.

In progress photograph:

After the makeover:

As per Feng Shui master's advice, I have to buy a Round table with 6 chairs. Due to constraint of walkway, I can only buy the 1m diameter marble table with the 4 white bulky chairs. But fret not, I have come up with the idea of putting the 2 porcelain chairs (bought many years ago from Air Itam, Johor) and FSM should be happy when he comes visiting for final audit!

Hi, CoffeeMan

Found this piece of photograph in my album showing the 4 bedrooms. There is a false ceiling to close up the beam and you can see a downlight installed in the middle of the walkway to the bedrooms.

Time really flies! We moved back 3 weeks ago now and not much changes to the house. I am supposed to get some plants for the indoor 'mini-garden', but I want to keep the 'recycled' wooden bench & cant find a suitable place except the 'mini-garden'. Now, the wooden bench takes up the space where most of our neighbours put the kitchen sink, along with the hot/cold water dispenser. My fsm has advised to leave that space 'open'.......but I am not sure what fs theory he applied, I just listen & do what he told to do.

Supposed to buy nice picture frame for this grey wall at kitchen foyer, but can't decide what to buy yet & where to buy nice picture for that wall. Any recommendation here?

Only the children bought things for their own use....a gymbar by the second son...

Yes, our block is very unique with 2 doors: Main door & one side door at the kitchen. As far as I know, besides Pandan Gardens, there are also HDB blocks at Teban Gardens & Boon Lay with similar 2-doors concept, but their kitchens are not as spacious as those in Pandan Gardens.

The front door, enter to LivingRoom:

The back door, enter to kitchen:

Someone pm to ask me to show the view of my kitchen from our back door, and here it is:

Picture taken while standing at the back door entrance:

The stove is being blocked by the tall cabinet, as stove cannot be seen from entrance.

I will take some new pictures from Main door if I have time. As for the back door, unable to take full view due to lift upgrading in progress which block the passage way.

Finally have time to go Courts Mega store & Ikea. I am eyeing for a Philips soundbar with blueray as I find it is the slimest & it's woffer is the smallest among the brands. Took down its model & my friend is helping to check it's product review on Internet.

Let's see what is the outcome after the review.
