New Electrical Point Charges Includes Of Fixing?

Recommended Posts

if I'm quoted say, $35 for a new point for downlight, does this price usually inclusive of fixing the light after the false ceiling have been done or will there be an extra $10 for fixing just the light up? Means $35 + $10 = $45?

Anyone can share?

My quote was $35 for electrcial point and $8 for installation. But i think there is room for nego on the electrical point. (my guess is $28 is doable)

Installation of $8 is reasonable. But if you have a lot of points, then do a lump sum nego with the electrician. I did that with my electrician the last time. Now also working out this details for my new place.

Between, is it common to charge looping as a new light point? Even the light just next to another, two electricians quoted me as new point which I think it's unfair as the cable is so short and the 2nd and 3rd light are sharing the same line...

- Any "point", as long as it is a "new point", whether tapped from adjacent power, or, pull cable from DB, it is charged at a "point" price.

- Lighting point charge at $A/per point

- Light installation charge at $B/per ligting

- Light control switch (1, 2,3,4 5,..gangs) charge st $C/per group

- Note: Price for different brand of control switches, varies a lot.

- Ceiling fan installation at $D/per fan

- TV/SCV point (single, double socket)different pricing

- Lan point, mounting plate.....

- Power point(1 gang) at $A/per point

- 2 gang at $B/per point, 2 gang $C/per point, so on so far

- Heater point at $D/per point, switch seperate charge.
