pixie 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2010 yo, so far so good eh??? I guess he met up with a happy problem! lol.. too many customers =) Yeap, so far so good. Whatever he has promised so far, he delivered. That day when we were there to check, we see indians clearing the debris, which we thought, were normal. Then when we peep downstairs, 2-3 Chinese guys (like those 50+ years old ah peks), are supervising them. Should be those Malaysians that you were talking about. We felt relived that these indians had someone to "look after". Cant wait to see the tiles today! Do u *knock knock each tiles?

pixie 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2011 CNY is nearing and the works are slowing down. We had a few hipcups which can serve as learning points: 1. Shower head was installed @ the wrong wall. Instead of the "feature" wall, it was installed in another wall. But we give this a go-ahead still as the mistake was not a bothersome to us and to undrill, and re-tiled seemed too much work for us. 2. Sinks were delivered wronggly, but these had been installed before we verified. Two mistakes due to us not being there to check. Do all of you go regularly to check on the status during office hours? Here are our progress: Day 1 - 20th December: Hacking Day 1 Day 4 - 23rd December: Loading debris to truck. Day 5 - 24th December: Loaded materials (cement, sand, tiles) Day 8 - 27th December: Filling up the walls with cement before tiling Day 10 - 29th December: Completed filling up of 2 toilets, kitchen and balcony walls. Day 12 - 31st December: Tiled Kitchen (half) and Common Toilet Day 17 - 5th January: Completed Tiling for Kitchen, Common Toilet, MBR Toilet. Started Living Room tilings Day 18 - 6th January: Completed Rooms and almost there for living room. Felt the lines for our tiles are beautifully matched. Earlier, as we are building a TV room platform in Living room, we mentioned to Alan that is ok not to tiled below (to save tiles n $). Without telling us, he went ahead to tiles, absorbing on the cost, cos he felt that this is better, thru his experience.
neubie 2 Report post Posted January 16, 2011 Nice workmanship of the tilers! The grout lines look seamless… for the wrongly delivered sinks, u were not there to check? Nv call up the sink supplier n bang table? Hope it's not too way off your intended design… as always, please make effort to visit after every milestone of ur reno. Any problem let Alan know pronto, take pics n email him. He keeps a docket of all mail correspondence of every project one.
