i would like to know if the stairs railing of EM can be change?

will it be expensive?

I heard we need to engage architectural to design if we want to change...

any advice?

Only the railing? not the stairs ya? I'm really new here, just got my EM and just started renovating.

removed the old railings (big blocky woody kind) and change it to clear glass. Freaking ex but i'm sure it's because of the way hubby and i wanted.

at first ID quoted about 4.5K for the change...after signing quotation..it's now about 7.2K..

So ya, there shouldn't be a problem in changing the railings. No need designer if you can find the sub-contractors urself.. think i'm getting carrot chopped like crazy by ID..

But if you are talking about changing the whole stairs then it's a lot of more work and a lot of exp...i suspect it's not even allowed.

I've gotten quotes for change of railings recently. $1400 for a wrought iron design and wooden handrail. Make sure it meets the minimum height, your contractor or ID will know.
