Hi everyone, i am starting this thread to involve all residents of Segar Meadows or any other visitors staying nearby to post their great deals on electrical items, renovations etc.

AS most of you should know by now, that our new house will be ready probably by 2nd Quarter of 2011 or maybe earlier . Guess its time to start sourcing for interior designers and electrical items very soon.

Will be update the post with pics of the area when possible and also some great buys.

Apparently Innerview quoted me about 20k and Intradesign quoted almost 30k. Now waiting for Rest n Relax and several others.

Shall do a summarize opinion of the various IDs and contractors that I had met up with or sent my requirements for a quote.

U will soon realise that at the end of the day its not the cheapest quote that wins the contract or rather the ID who promised the most.... its really the reviews of others, communications, feeling, trust, and their sense of commitment etc that helps u make the final decision.

1. InnerView at IMM ID: Steve -- $21,000 (2-3 meetings, 1 site visit)

Nice guy to talk to with occasional ideas that will make u change ur previous concept on the planning. Promises things but not sure of how true it will be. After much delay finally see the site which he said is an-ongoing project but only managed to see finished items like kitchen cabinets and wardrobes. I asked him how many projects he got on hand, he told me 3.. but abit in doubt over these words. He did do up the propsed floorplan drawing during the 2nd meeting.

2. SquareRoom at Balestier ID: Maurice Chow --$19k plus (2 meetings)

1st ID we dropped by the shop, one of the cheapest quote for ID side, prompt and enthu always call back to check on hows our decision and any changes require. Pretty standard designs and will agree to most of the requirements u want. Like hack a wall etc.

3. GPlan @IMM : Female ID (forgotten as not worth mentioning as well)

Happen to pass by there so pass one of the ID our requirements for a quote, never get back. Never mind, went down 2 weeks later ask if they are aware of it or not, ask me to talk to another ID to help convey the requirements and message to the previous ID, spent abt 1 hour there till now around 1-2 months still no news from them.

4. Homesweethome Renovations (Contractor)

Quote around $18390 even though its the cheapest we didnt go for it, as we decided to have a more reputable and trust worthy ID instead of a Contractor. Was prompt in the email reply of quotation though.

5. Rest n Relaz ( New greenhorn ID)

Est quote around $40-50k shock us off even though he mentioned got lifetime warranty. Slow in providing 1st expensive quote with many mistake in the quotes like items we want were not there, items we dont want are there etc... Second quote and meeting still aroun 30-40k with many wrong items so decided to drop them.

6. homeSuccess @ Bukit Timah (Angel and Vincent)

Quote is around $26k with 5 years warranty. 1st meeting was at expo show, after giving all the description meetup at their showroom for the 2nd time whereby we felt a bit being push to take up their 1k designing and commitment charge for the 3D design. Don't really like it cos I had not really know about their serivce and its just the 2nd meeting with the quotation than they try to ask u to sign up with them so that they can proceed with the next step.

7. Plush Living @ Balestier (Darren)

Heard many gd reviews abt him over the forum so gave him a call and did a 1st meetup with him at his office for my requirements. Definately a busy boss with non-stop customers and appointments. So conincidentally my ex-colleague is working there as an ID as well. Got back to us in abt 1 week and we are quite pleased to see that he was the 1st ID we met who is able to provide us with a quote of nearly 95% correct items and proposed floor plan, proposed lighting plan and ceiling works plan. Gd impression and not pushy over sales. Give advices on what are not require but if u have sufficent budget than u may consider. Quote ard $21k.

8. Edgeline planners @IMM ID: Alan

Prompt reply and soft spoken id with some simple ideas. 2nd meeting provided us with a sketch of the living room done by him. Cons are: Quotation very ex about $25k with many of my capentry and ceiling works being ommited. He ask me to buy off the rack shelves, study table, shoe cabinet and even tv consoles.... than wat for a need to engage an ID in that case..... nevertheless nice guy to talk to...
