newSAHM 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2010 Can anybody share if the laminate patterns on the table is hard to maintain? or will it start peeling after a few years? Love the table but can't decide whether to get it....
january 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2010 I'd advise you not to get it, mainly because the design is too trendy and you'll be tired of it in about 2 years... furniture needs a little bit more longevity than that. Otherwise I wouldn't think laminate is hard to maintain at all.
B2B 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 I'd advise you not to get it, mainly because the design is too trendy and you'll be tired of it in about 2 years... furniture needs a little bit more longevity than that. Otherwise I wouldn't think laminate is hard to maintain at all. I was at Cellini the other day, helping my client to select some sofas and dining table. We went for the Flow sofas and bed but for the Console we chose a Gloss Black one instead of the HPL Laminate you mentioned above. As for the Dining, we went for the Walnut Veneer one. I do mainly refurbishment for Hotel projects, but sometimes my clients want some personal favour to help coordinate their Interior Decor. My thoughts are exactly the same as yours, I think plain coloured themes are 'safe' and easy to coordinate. The reason is usually after you shift in, you will start adding in lots of accesories like lamps, picture frames, souvernirs etc.. Wall colour, Curtains, lighting concept is also harder to complement if you choose more intricate designs. Hence I always go for the rule that simplicity is best, but go for quality finishes. If you want to decorate and make your theme more elaborate, use Fancy Throw cushions, nice table runners and chic accessories. Should you get tired of the design, it doesn't cost alot to change it. january 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2010 They're lots of white dining tables around... What's your definition of reasonably priced? I saw some at mode studio (kaki bukit) I think Mondi (furniture mall) has them too. Lucano is their sister company and I think they have white tables too. They should be around $800-$2000 depending on size. I remember seeing a white dining table at the Koda warehouse some weeks back. Don't know if someone has bought it already. They're at Defu Lane 4. Furniture is really cheap (under $600) and looks very solid.

Hi January, We were hoping to find a nice white round one as my little baby is learning how to walk so want to minimise accidents...But so far haven't seen any...Only saw an oval one at Star living furniture....We kinda like the one at Cellini coz no sharp corners...the corners are curved..... But we did short list the retangular IKEa expandable white table as well... I guess my definition would be table plus 4 chairs below 1K.... But I thought there are alot of negative reviews about Mode studio??? I think we went to Mondi but the size is too big.... Where is Lucano? Thanx for letting me know abt the Koda warehouse.....Is the table you saw wooden or what material is it? Thanx so much for taking the time to answer my questions... =D
january 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2010 Lucano is at the furniture mall at beach road... level 2 i think? Koda has a lot of wooden tables. The white one i saw was wood with several coats of glossy white paint. metal (not sure if it's chrome or stainless steel) legs. But unfortunately it's got corners so it might not be so good for your little one.

But I did catch a glimpse of it. I think most importantly the concept matches your theme. If the floral motifs aren't too intricate or obvious, then you should be on the 'safe' side. As long as you like it, it will look great
