Building A Skylight To Cover Airwell

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks - I'm new to the forum. Have just bought a landed property and planning some renovation work before we move in. Property is in fairly good shape but we may still need to do some changes. This is a 3 storey terrace house with a large square airwell in the middle (with a koi pond). We're contemplating putting a sloped skylight to close off the airwell but still let in the light (and potentially have ventilator windows for air circulation) and also change the existing glass windows opening into the airwell to wooden glass windows. Wanted some advice from the experienced community on :

1. Is this feasable and if so - what might be the ballpark cost ?

2. Is it better to get a contractor to do this or plan it with an ID ?

3. Any recommendations of contractors would be very useful.

thanks once again. I find the discussions on this site really useful to learn and will definitely share my photos once I start doing the renos.

cheers
