Does it matter how many red cups ? c) Chu 1 and 15, i buy flowers. How about other days ? d) are sweets necessary ? e) must have "fa cai" cake during chu 1 and 15 ? Please share I only have the following: a) artificial lights with lotus motifs - only turned on when I light up joss sticks. b) 1 cup of water with a lid c) flowers - those which r pom-poms i.e. cut from the stem that u can get at $1 per packet from most florists. But I only offer during 1st & 15th days of the lunar calendar. Maybe I'm a lazy pig. But during chinese new year, I'll have the "fa" cake. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Wu Jiahong Alvin Ng 1 Report post Posted September 25, 2010 Hi.. im also praying Goddess of Mercy... it depends which culture u in...? like eg.. if u are a praying buddhism.. is like very simple 1 small cup of plain water beside all e time... during chu 1 and 15th.. mo li hua, n a plate of fruits will do. in chinese calendar 3yue 19th, 6yue 19th n finally 9yue 19th need to pray cos goddess of birthday or big days... n as for incense burning use coil type for buddhism... but remember if u are praying buddhism for goddess of mercy.. every chu 1 n 15th all vegetarian unless u are praying for non veg god...
