Thank you! i think the comparison as follows: PLC - needs magnetic ballast to work - may flicker when switched on - cheaper - consume more power PLL - require electronic ballast to work - instant-on when switched on (flicker-free) - downlights have electronic ballast built-in so will be more exp when replacing, no external components (eg, magnetic ballast) less propability of failure. so when replacing new PLL lights, everything is new. - consume less power Edited September 23, 2010 by neubie Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Cos i went to jalan besar and one of the shops rec'd me use energy savings bulb, no ballast so when fail, no need to guess is ballast or bulb fail. Any ideas? Thanks.
