Market Price For Wardrobe & Display Cabinet

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Anyone can advise what is the rough estimated market rate for full height wardrobe & display cabinet with glass door?

A colleague of mine just got a very ridiculous quote of $10,000++ (his room alone), which amount to nearly $260 per feet for his wardrobe. I remember when I was renovating my house; it was that expensive.

Anyone can advise?

Market rate for wardrobe is at $190 to $200 per square foot basing on height not exceeding 2440mm.

Doors exposure materials and hardware may affect the price as well. As mentioned above, the price your friends got quote is indeed very, very high.

Display cabinet no standard price cos the height and design varies, however will not go above $200 as well.

For many contractors or IDs, it's usually $220 and up.

The direct carpenter's price is usually lower.

Of cos you gotta take into consideration the type of hinges they use - soft-closing? anti-slam? Sliding or not?

For frosted glass sliding doors & good sliding bearings...cost will be more. Mine cost $240 psf. For normal laminate sliding doors, about $200 psf.

if u get ID to provide the service, prepare to pay about 20% more. So direct get the carpenter to do the build in cabinets will be recommended if cost savings is what u are looking for....search about this forum to get reliable & good carpenters. Some homework needs to be done. ID is no frills but u pay for that.
