Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

Two days after the hacking, it is like I am in the war zone with dust and dirt all over the places, even the contractor try to clean up at the end of the day.

Try to renovate first before moving in. Unfortunately, I have no choice.

Back to renovate issues..

I still have a few issues I need to solves:

http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34130

2. KDK fan

http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34078

This is pre-prep for the living room renovation.

Please try to reply the posts. Thanks alots

The contractor Kelvin is using the EDL laminates. The EDL website is http://www.edleuro.com/

The EDL laminates is used by some top IDs in Singapore such as Vega, etc; furthermore they also win Singapore Prestige Brand award 09. Should be a good laminate......

We have decided to change the white laminate to something off-white near grey color.

Our first choice is Gray Hugo from the Stardust series:

Our second choice is White Nacre from the Stardust series:

The Stardust series have shining spots that make the actual laminate looks much very brighter than the picture posted. Furthermore, it has glossy surface.

The 3D diagram indicates what is going to do and what is the materials used. At least, everyone is clear.... Hopefully less problem at the end.

The sliding door is a bit old fashion.... I am thinking of changing the design of door. I have come out a new design and feedbacked to Kelvin. Will posted it once confirmed.

Kelvin has confirmed to start the hacking job on this coming Monday.. Hope everythings go smoothly....

Plumber Job:

Rate: 3/10

Comments:

His job is to move the old washing basin to common toilet. This is a resquest from me and Kelvin agreed to do it FOC during the signing of the contract.

The plumber is rough man; never take care of the floor (even it old), and the new tiles on the kitechen sink. I guess if he do it with care, he will not demage my old wall tiles at the basin area, I cannot said anything more - Overal disappointing on the way he did thing.

Aluminium Work: To install Al swing with black acrylic panels.

img2519w.jpg

Problem:

It looks nice, however the centre door does not close smoothly, but can be closed by some forces.

Cause:

Close investigation finds that the centre and bottom rivets on the centre door is blocked by the left door panel. As a result there is some scratches on the left panel.

Have informed Kelvin, he will arange contractor to take a look tomorrow or next week.

Rate : 6/10 (I does not expect any problem because it is a small job)

Renovation is a very stressful thing indeed...... Hope everything goes smoothly.......

Nice, wall tiles look good.

Hopefully, your contractor will fix the closure of door without any prob.

Do post more pics and feedback :)

Thanks, things are moving very slowly, the Al door have not been rectified yet. How fast I guess is the relationship between the main contractor and the sub-contractor.

I found the quality of the products and workmanship depends on

  1. Who is the sub-contractors the IDs/main contractors employed - it will determine the workmanship.
  2. The amount of profits the IDs/main contractors want to earn - that will determine the quality of the materials used. If you look at various quotation, it is not much differences.

Will definitely post some pictures when some works are done. Hope everyone keeping coming back.....

Keep my finger cross.... Hope to have a smooth renovation ....

Last weekend, too busy re-organising the store room. I brought the Gorm system from Ikea. I added the height extension post so as to reach a height of 233cm.

Not bad, can put alot of things inside the store room now.
