Qns On Solid Birch Flooring & Furniture...

Recommended Posts

My current decor is resort look w lots of teak & dark brown furnishing. As I'm moving house soon, I'm planning for a brand new look... I've always like Scandinavian design for their simplistic look... Decide to opt for a lighter shade and opt for white / birch coloured furnishing...

My questions as follows:

1) I found out there's now exotic hard wood flooring like oak, birch & maple wood available... Are they practical for our kind of climate? Any problems so far for those who use these sort of flooring? Of the three choices (which are light blonde shades), which is the best choice for our type of climate? Other recommendation?

2) I know IKEA is the default place for Scandinavian furnishing but i dun like MDC, fibreboard, etc... As for their solid wood, IKEA only used pinewood... Which other places can I go for Scandinavian furnishing esp those using solid birch type?

Thanks!

Hey there, i'm too into Scandinavian concepts, got a dining table and chairs from Commumne over at millenia walk. Price for their table is below $900, IMO pretty reasonable so far from the merchants i've seen. However chairs are over $200 each -_- , no pic to share at the moment apologies. The Material for the table is Solid Birch/Oak .
