Wall Hack = Neighbour Wall Tiles Crack?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Need advise.

1st time hack wall for my new home. Quite extensive hacking.. total about 3 pieces of wall gone...

my neighbour a few units away (not immediate left or right or below), complained due to the vibration effects of the wall hacking, his wall tiles in his kitchen has damaged. I saw the damage and a small crack.

I am wondering whether such things can happen? the owner happen to be ID so has explaining that this is quite common...

I am just concerned whether i am being ripped...

anyone has such similar experience?

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

What is your contractor's take on this?

I won't buy his story and will request for HDB side to come down and inspect his unit.

Even if crack, it'll be your direct next door neighbour's wall to crack first before his one.

If wall tiles can crack so easily, then HDB has to always compensate all the owners staying along the corridoor that they are hacking right? So far, HDB has hacked walls and floorings of many corridoors but I never hear of people's wall tiles cracking from it.

Not HDB so his wall tiles are his own selected. Looks pretty glossy shiny type so may be more "fragile"??

He claims that such cases are common when hacking walls due to his profession. Dunno how true? Maybe that's a way for him to exploit?

I am wondering worse come to worst, does he has any strong evidence to sue me for the damages?

I think he is trying to pull a quick one on you.

Tell him got proof please sue me. Very hard to proof that the crack tiles are due to your wall hacking. Besides is his willing to get professional to validate his claim?

My neighbour 3 units away from my also do major reno with wall hacking.....so far nothing wrong with my unit or no complaints from the neighbour.
