Bamboo Plant - For Deco Vase For Kwanyin

Ususally i buy flowers during day 1 + day 15.

My mum told me Bamboo Plant (aka KwanYin Teck) is long lasting, no need to buy flowers each time.

Is it commonly found in flower shop ?

Any particular type i should be looking out ?

Hi Kalimantan, according to some FS masters (not sure if it includes TKY fr wayonnet), the "kwanyin teck" (in hokkien) is not advisable.

reason: it might invite evil spirits to stay in there if owners r really unlucky.

I know this might sound ridiculous because it's only a plant but u've got to judge youself. An aunty staying near my place used to work for a textile factory in woodlands for 20 years until she got retrenched in 2006. She claimed that her ex-boss' FS master asked him to put the "kwanyin teck" inside vase on the altar. The company went bust anyway. They lost all their contracts with big players in the fashion industry.

I found one thing quite funny: My late parents/uncle/aunty/brothers/sisters....don't use 观音竹，as in web link shown in my previous post -can find in quite many parks in Singapore, or even just right "outside" those landed houses.

Instead the KY woshippers use "lucky bamboo" but this plant itself is not under any bamboo species, has scientific name calls: Dracaena Genus. Anyone know why like that? Is there a mistake? This "lucky bamboo" is super common, wet mkts, corridors, void decks, gardens....

Hi Eden..

I did not know that bamboo plant can invite ghost spirits even putting besides the statues.

suspect the statue was not kai kwang properly.

Can i know why the principle behind it of FSM saying the plant will house evil spirits ? Was there a history or legend on this ?

Below is from my view of religion instead of FS (For TKY, if u have $, pls subscribe to his web & become a platinium member so can read many "fantastic" articles wirtten by him, so more or less u will understand his concept of "evil spirits")Hope it throws some light to yr query. Sorry for my bad command of english.

- Evil spirits (ES) like mankind to worship, submissive to them, knee before them.

- ES have some supernatural power, could "reside" themseves in any objects which ones "fond" of.

- Ones = Man kind who have strong worldly material greeds, devil/evil needs, unrealistic needs & ways of get things done through "black magic",....

- Fond = Liking very much. Before fond, always "temptations" come first.

- ES can fulfill ones' need but always want something in exchange (soul, heart, free will....)

That was why i do not suggest to buy any forms of so called "fs items" to boost qi, not to mention status. ES can reside in these to gain "control" of human being, if ones "treat" these items > than their parents......(place these before/on top of ones' own parents - just a description, there are more examples that "worse" than this description).

Good Infor - you gained something but you'll lose or exchange something for sure.
