Any good bathroom doors to recommend?

I have heard so bad reviews about bi-fold doors so am in a dilemma now. :(

Can you please give me some suggestions / recommendations?

more commonly found now are bi-fold and pd doors. pd doors are swing and slide. some say have mechanism problems if not used properly. bi-fold more straightforward. but noisier than pd and takes up slightly more space. but bi fold door mechanism more straightforward. my parent's place have been using it for almost 8 years now with no problems

But PD doors are very light and spoil easily too right?

What else do people normally use?

PD door is used at my parent's house and they are still going strong after 8 years. I suppose it depends on how it is being used.

also depends on your budget. Bi-fold door is not that bad actually, depends on your needs, depends on users too... th're are rough pple, and there're gentle pple. Of coz if it's your own house, u'll open gently unlike in coffee shop.

I had use Pd doors for abt 4yrs, still happy with it. For the common toilet, the door latch machanism is having a slight problem, yet to have it fixed. The latch will latch on by itself when the door slide to closed(dangerous if you have little kids at home playing with the door, they may lock themselves inside and unable to unlock by themselves). The web site says that the latch can be replaced easily, I have yet to find out. Haven't contact them yet.... Btw, their web site is www.pddoor.com

If you are looking for quality bathroom doors, you should be considering sliding doors (different from PD doors). They are supposedly the most lasting even though boring. PD door is a swing-slide concept. Months ago, I contemplated between PD & sliding. Went down to the showroom in Eunos, visited a few suppliers there, studied the PD door & gave up. Chose sliding doors.

My previous bathroom doors were also sliding & they were already 15 years old. The rollers & lockset was changed just once & it was still working well except that the fibre glass looked a bit dirty & "obiang". So we decided to replace it. Otherwise, they're still working well.

After around & getting good referrals, I got my 2 bathrooms' doors replaced with sandblasted sliding doors from a company that supplies alumimium doors, grilles, etc to condominiums & bungalows.

They own a factory at admiralty industrial area - the boss would personally supervise the installation while his brother manages the production team. Their workmanship is very good and I was pleased with every aspect of the transaction. Aftersales service was also good even though they have already. We have received many compliments from relatives, who started engaging them too.

If you are interested, please PM me and I would pass you their company name & contact number.

(not sure if I could disclose openly becox I wouldn't want to be misunderstood as promoting / advertising for them)

Was trolling through all the treads. Could you share pictures of the bathroom doors? ;)

My bathroom doors are currently covered in plastic sheets to protect them from the dust arising from renovation, but if u would like to take a glimpse of it, please refer to this link:

I would not recommend that you get sandblasted glass doors. If you have decided to get sliding bathroom doors, then go for those that comes with PVC panels.

And I would highly recommend Han Fong Aluminium becox they have done a very beautiful job for my vanity drawers under the windows - u can see the photos under my thread on Han Fong Aluminium. The price looks good with customisation & is alot cheaper than the contractors who did my bathroom doors.

best wishes!

I was deciding between swing and bifold door. Cant make a decision until I came across this page recommended by another member in another thread. *REMOVED* (this page list the pros and cons of each type of door that can be installed in the toilet)

*REMOVED* also list all the different types of bifold door available. How they are different.

In the end, I brought a premium bifold door ($298) from them for my common room (nice design to show off to my guest), one enhanced bifold ($238) for my master room toilet.

They have classic bifold @ $188 but I am looking for a durable one so I pick the better quality one.

They picked up my call at 8pm and came to confirm my order on Sat evening. The sale person, Jeffery has 15 appointment on that day.

I am confident I made the right choice.
