My parents said to avoid becox u'll want the deities at home to be watching out for everyone in the family. But there must be a reason why the artisans made them with their eyes closed. One neighbour even told us that the deity's eye level should be guarding the ash pot where the joss sticks are offered & placed in. kalimantan 6 Report post Posted October 13, 2010 when eye-closed, it means "no eyes to see this family lor" ..hahahahahah I think mine is eye-closed (let me check tonight), only during cny, when i invite lion dance, it open eyes and the ash pot will have big fire without us lighting joss-stick This told me that it came to our house.
