Hi stacyhunny, have u ever tried getting a copy of Joey Yap's book? He's fr M'sia. He has many books written in excellent English but I'm not sure if he has anything for Palmistry. His writeup with illustration for face-reading was worth reading. Straight forward & useful. I borrowed from the national library last year & I'm contemplating if I should buy his newly released books. cost a bomb!

U could google his name & his website would be listed.

If a book with substance, I would buy, even cost as much as a few hundred $. I bought 黄帝内经 (abt 6 inch thick) at around $300, is not a bomb, is the key to wisdom. I've 3 bks on LKY.

I received no formal training on this, have read a few bks before, and after that have also paid some attention/observations to ppls' inner palm. Noticed that:

- Those "blue collar" ppls' palm lines tend to be "thin", "many", "messy". Especially true for those who use palm to wash clothing, mechanic who use srcew driver/spanners/oily palm & wash hands frequently, fishmongers whose palm constantly intact with water......"thin", "many", "messy" interpreted as 'bad life", "full of worries".....

- Different schools' taught will confuse you: left hand?, righthand?, dominant hand? Some even can interprete "fingers" - a bit like bazi's parent/bro/sis/own family/chrildren/career/main resistance/future.....

I think pay money & spend time to learn something "extra" is always good. Remember, palmistry is only one of the many divination methods developed by human being.

refer to statement " palmistry is only one of the many divination methods developed by human being."

What are the other various methods that are current in "progress" ?

1. fengshui

2. palmistry

3. bazhi

4. Face reading ?

5. zodiac ? (chinese + western) ?

6. the "weight" of the bazhi - was recently in sin ming newspaper ? Or just another fsm show it to add-on "sales"

7. Ji Ying (as in previous threads)

a) all methods tell the same thing ? Or one method better than the other ? Or each country specialize in one ?

b) Is it true that fengshui is more "advanced" than the rest ?

FS itself, originally has nothing to do with divination, but somehow, along the way(thousand yrs), ppls add this & that...super long story to tell, if you read chinese histoy(hisrtory with proofs, not legends) can be traced as far as 2070BCE back. You will know the developement of the fs and the changes. Many "scientific ppls" coin fs as "superstitious" is because of these ppls "add this & that" and make fs look like a plate of "rojak" of today!. Actually, I'm not fit to commend this, now could have offended lots of ppls, since you ask, I speak what I know of.

Singapore press is unlike those Taiwanese press or mags. S'pore press license renewal is "daily". Each press has their own strategy to improve readership, baseline is no "nosense" stuff. SM/WB likes to carry such articles, promoting ghost stories, religions etc...sooner or later, their editors will be invited for "tea" by MTI. We need not to worry. Remember Pro Ho PK in Yishun with those temples? Ended up LKY stepped in. For sure, the lady fsm's theory get published in the press openly, must be someone behind promoting it with motives.

All methods have same goals, ie to know the past(past already known), present & future, so to "master" life. Can we? I've even mentioned better not to know our future now, even if there is way to do so, why?

There are people with many lines on their palms but they might not necessarily be blue-collared workers. Those with messy lines are those who might be troubled & vexed throughout their lives. Also an indication of health conditions. Many politicians & the wealthy socialites out there have many lines on their plams. According to some schools of thoughts, it is also an indication of an old soul who had gone through many stages of reincarnation.

It's good that you're willing to part with your $ to pursue your interests. Such books on geomency r interesting to me but for a fleeting moment. I'll simply read it once & that's it. That chinese set of books that u bought: an elderly neighbour from china mentioned it before when another mentioned about yellow living rooms & saying how disagreeable it was for him. I prefer reading & collecting case-study management books & phisophical texts like those of Buddhist philosophy.

Pro Ho is a devoted Christian. When he was in charged of Yishun, many temples' activities application kena disapproved by him. So ppl of different religion heated up, LKY poured water quickly. Same thing for SM/WB, if they step "out of the border", they will be invited for tea first.

I was in Public Relation Media Dept when I was doing my NS, did press cutting & translation. I "in charge" of all local chinese press. Other languages handles by other NSmen. Remember, on few occasions, all press "suddenly" kena asked to have "tea-cum press conference". My days in NS were everyday very rushed & tensed up, not worth, seriously under paid. Didn't know how to complain.....just gong gong..& follow....Some of the photographer/reports/editors now were from MINDEF's Pioneer (mag). Anyway, Pioneer mag still around? Pioneer was under PRM Department.

Hi bepgof, thanks for sharing! This is something new to me & really interesting... Over in singapore, there is no space for those who stir up disharmony among races & religious differences. If they r dealing with politics.

But ur experience in NS must be very interesting altho' challenging & underpaid. U get wind of all the juicy bits ahead of everyone :D
