wilyn 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2010 We do not intend to change the existing air-con units in the house. But the outer shell looks yellowish. Is there any shop selling outer shell for air-con units?
neubie 2 Report post Posted August 10, 2010 a yellowed a/c shell may indicate it has been used at least for 4 years or so, spare part shells from agent may not be possible, due to the short lifespan of FCU models... more impt is to check if the cooling fins and pipes have corrosion or not...if yes, a better solution would be to change the entire system for complete peace of mind. hon 1 Report post Posted August 10, 2010 try melamine sponge or magic sponge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melamine_foam some said use melamine sponge can remove the yellowish from the plastic cover. but take note if the surface being cleaned is not sufficiently hard, it may be scratched by the melamine material so do it at your own risk. best test the method or product on area any damage will not be noticed before using on full exposed area.
