Haulage Charges - What Is Reasonable?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Had to repost. Not sure why my original post disappeared.

I am getting my new 5room HDB and was asking for quotations. So far, the quotation came back with haulage ranging from $350 to $1,200. Some recommended that we pay haulage directly to HDB named contractor while some charge it into their quotes.

In order to ensure that the quotes received above are reasonable, I need your help to let me know what type of haulage were quoted to you for 5room new HDB flat.

I did a search in this forum and the most recent quote was supposedly around $500 and actually HDB suggested just $250. But that thread dated back to 2007. Things might have change by now given the hot property market.

Appreciate any help here. Thank you.

Hi Michael,

If yours is a new flat, it should be pay directly to the town council that is overseeing your flat. This is a flat rate which you can call to find out from your town council. You or your contractor can pay to the town council. Town council would normally appoint a permanent contractor to do this haulage job and your contractor is not allow to use his own workers. I presume the town council wanted only one contractor to clean up the estate.

Just some of my humble opinions..

any renovation wld require haulage.. there will be debris from hacking, demolition, etc and they store these debris in a container before hauling it away at the end of the process. This is haulage.

Hi all,

Is haulage a necessary? Whats does it actually mean? Mine is the premium flat so flooring all done, maybe just hacking of a bit of wall, so haulage still applies??
