Amy Choon 1 Report post Posted August 2, 2010 I bought an Ellane hob. was trying it last week and realised that the flame was not strong enough. When i bought the hob, I asked the sales person to intro me one with strong flame, cos i need it for chinese cooking. she recommended me this Ellane hob with 3 ring flame. but somehow, it wasn't as strong as i wanted it to be. I wonder is it because i'm using a gas cylinder? Sometimes when I on the fire, half of the burner not lighted up, i still have to manually fan the burner so that the whole burner is lighted up. previously i used SP gas and ariston hob and it was really good. so now, i wonder, is it the Ellane hob or the gas cynlinder?? i haven't started cooking yet, but if it's the hob issue, then i might be changing one. anyone can advise? therat 18 Report post Posted August 2, 2010 Sometimes when I on the fire, half of the burner not lighted up, This one I know. I also bought a Ellane Hob 3 burner. Last Sat, just call their service guy come to service. Due to the same reason as yours. Then they explain for the bigger burner. if you had a pot on top on it. The flame will be working fine. I can't remember the exact word use by them. But base on the services guy feedback, I'm not the one that face this. He say don't worry, nothing wrong on the burner. Just one of their design. Just put a pot or wok or sth on top of the burner. The flame will be working well. U go and try I'm also using cylinder. My model is 748L. What's urs? yoongf 11 Report post Posted August 2, 2010 Hob got town gas version and tank gas version. The pressure of these 2 gas is different, and the hob has different regulator. Maybe u got the wrong version for the type of gas u using? Usually the box got say the regulator is for which type of gas
therat 18 Report post Posted August 3, 2010 Hmm.. I thought for cylinder. Different LPG brand has their own regulator. If the cylinder is install by the LPG guy. Should be using the correct regulator. I'm using Shell cylinder as they had promotion for Ellane Brand hob.
