catfish 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2010 What kind of bulbs or lights are you using ? Not all lights can be dimmed.. Dimmer switch is designed for incandescent/halogen light bulb use , if your existing light is energy saving type, then I would suggest forget about it, as it's not compatible. In the market there is a type of energy saving E27 light bulb that is compatible with dimmer switch (Philips has some ), but the price is not cheap, in the range of S25-$30 (as compare to $7-$9). Installation is straight forward, as long as you have a compatible light bulb.. cheer
fierydragon 1 Report post Posted August 17, 2010 . FORGET about the dimmer switch as it does not work well with most energy saving and flouresant light tubes. If you want a less bright room, install a stand lamp or additional socket for a smaller voltage bulb. It will be less messy and and practical.
