What To Do With The Beam In The Kitchen Area?

From what I know and the advice I got here (in my other post), the beams (as shown in the picture) cannot be hacked.

anybody has seen the same thing or personal experience and what can be done?

i am facing the same too. Not decided what to do, but one possibility is to have two pendant lights on either side of the beam. Maybe some others here have better ideas/suggestions?

hi

any beams and columns are not to hack or remove...

they are the bones of the building.

so forget abt ever trying to remove them >:)

my advice is to probably install string curtains and separate the living room from the dining /kitchen area....
