Looking For 3.1 Sound System Or Living Room

looking for a 3.1 sound system for my living to match my 42" TV and PS3/DVD players.

due to budget constraints and reno limitations, I decided to ditch 5.1 systems as I don't want to lay the wires around the living room.

But looking around, notice alot of HTib is mostly 5.1 or 7.1. I don't like soundbars...

my budget is 500 and below, prefer to have just an amp, 2 speakers, 1 center speaker and a subwoofer.

possible to get those off-the-rack HTib type or must I miss and match?

Think the trend now no more 5 in 1 or 3 in 1.

Those integrated system with IPOD and thumb drive are slimmer and sleek

for your TV console.

i think u can pop by echoloft forums for used hifi there based on ur budget... can spot some good deals there...
