ossify 1 Report post Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) Hey Ossify, Check with you.. you know the storeroom shelves in post 20? Where can I find them and what are they called? Probably can find them in hardware shops. They are used very commonly 10-20 years ago as they are cheap and flexible methods of wall shelving. Following are some updates of the renovation progress 1 week into the commencement of wetworks. Removal of existing wall paint and sealant, to be plastered smooth Waterproofing of kitchen floor done (the floor is different from the previous pic due to waterproofing) Owners went on-site to take a look, gave good comments on the workmanship for wall tiles. ossify 1 Report post Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) Pls don't mislead others hse owners as PVC corner strip are not use as a mean to plaster straight of the wall. Cos I don't want wait later owner said his walls not straight is my workers workmanship not good or I didn't use the corner strip. Thks. hi jaskel, i think we have a misunderstanding. the words i used were "PVC corner strips to ensure walls are plastered straight". i did not say that PVC corner strips can make your walls plastered straight. i guess we use the PVC corner strips differently because i use it to ensure the corners are straight, before plastering the rest of the wall flat, in line with the PVC corner strips, which would eventually make the walls plastered straight. but i guess most owners wouldn't really know/care about this. went to meet the carpenter/electrician/plumber on-site today to talk business electrician commented that the walls are plastered very nicely with good workmanship. i was so glad that a professional noticed the good workmanship very flat plastered wall, do note that i use cement to plaster same in MBR same in common bedroom and in kitchen other side of kitchen Not tried drilling them. Lazy, I guess. My tiles are laid horizontally. It makes my bathroom looks wider. No tblog? Wah piang Eh, Sometimes, I wonder where you guys get the energy to post it. Once reno start. many immediate decision to make. I run of of energy le. You guys are really superhuman:) Maybe one day, la. I post. But it will be POST reno. heh i thought your reno is already completed long ago. Edited August 3, 2010 by ossify

jaskel 2 Report post Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) hi jaskel, i think we have a misunderstanding. the words i used were "PVC corner strips to ensure walls are plastered straight". i did not say that PVC corner strips can make your walls plastered straight. i guess we use the PVC corner strips differently because i use it to ensure the corners are straight, before plastering the rest of the wall flat, in line with the PVC corner strips, which would eventually make the walls plastered straight. but i guess most owners wouldn't really know/care about this. Ya...maybe. When come to "england", I'm not that "powderful". Cos quite hard to understand your "england" even with your sentences now. First, u used "PVC corner strips to ensure walls are plastered straight" then now this "i use it to ensure the corners are straight, before plastering the rest of the wall flat, in line with the PVC corner strips, which would eventually make the walls plastered straight." So u used it to ensure the corners are straight first then will eventually make the walls plastered straight later? Write clearly meh, tot u mean that using it will ensure the walls are plastered straight, without it, the walls will not be plastered straight. Or am I still getting it wrong? The purposes of using PVC corner strips can't be using it differently. Its only whether u know it or not. And btw, if most hse owners wouldn't really know/care about it, then why bother to post and explain about it? Oh ya, I can't make the walls or corners straight at all even using PVC corner strips, maybe my skills still not up to it yet but I'll told the owner frankly on that.
