leitmotiv 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2010 Seems like no cover is more popular! We're still undecided though. In person, if there's no cover, the 5 halogen bulbs are quite obvious and not very nice-looking. It is alot brighter with no cover though. Anyway, hand-over date has been pushed back to 7 September. There are some things still need to be done on that day, like touching up paint. The initial paintwork was done before all the electrical trunkings were finished, so they're now white and need to be re-painted. Yesterday was mainly progress on the doors. First the bathroom door locks are done. The master bathroom door is much more well-done than common bathroom. Common bathroom door is very hard to close and open as the plastic fin lining the edge of the door seems to be too long. Also, the common bathroom door lock cannot slide into the hole in the wall, I think it's slightly misaligned. Our wrought iron gate is finally up: We did not have a good experience with CNS who supplied us with the gate. First, the lady we talked to when ordering has a very very bad attitude. Then, they somehow managed to get the measurements wrong twice! It was supposed to be installed last month, but on the day of installation, the gate can't fit. Yesterday, they came with an amended gate and it still can't fit. The installers had to cut an inch off and weld it back on the spot. That's why the horizontal wavy bars are spaced equally apart except at the most bottom rung. Bedroom doors were also installed yesterday: The doors have some texture, which we like very much:
leitmotiv 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2010 All the downlights have been installed in the house: We like the way the downlight highlights the texture of our tiled feature wall. However, some of the downlights are crooked:
leitmotiv 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2010 Last 2 photos to share for today. The glass backing behind our hob is done. The white silicone applied at the sides are not perfectly even, but considering the size of this large piece of glass to be installed in such a confined space, it's a pretty good job. Measurements are precise too. The hanging light at the walkway between living room to the kitchen is installed. We wanted this hanging light to be arranged in descending order, but the lowest light will be too low then, and tall people will walk into it. I think hanging lights like this are more suitable for hanging over a dining table since nobody will be walking through the dining table. Anyway, in our case we decided to just let it all hang at the same height.
