Pls Advise On Plaster Wall

Need some advice. Is it true plaster wall can only apply on existing wall titles? Coz I extended my kitchen into the dining area but the ID only plaster the wall till the old kitchen wall, say that there will be crack at the joint part?? It look kind of ugly with part of the wall prutuding in (not even of about 3mm). Can anyone pls advice. Tks.

U can use cement with w1 first then plaster la so no crack.Speak to the tiler not the ID it will be better.
