veer26 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2010 hi. i will be building a suspended study table that will stretch from wall to wall, and will require power for my laptop, printer, speaker, etc. that is going to be on the table. there is an existing single powerpoint on one the side walls below the table. is there any way i can tap on this point and somehow come up with a concealed or a neat solution for the powerpoints without having the wires snaking over the top of the table to the bottom where the powerpoint is. one idea i came up with is to have a groove in the side of the table and place a 4 plug extension in it. anyone has any better ideas? much appreciated. yoongf 11 Report post Posted July 6, 2010 If going to custom make, can ask the maker to drill the 2 inch hole to run the wire through. There are plastic mouldings for sale at Homefix to make the hole look professional. Then install a 6 gang power bar say 1 feet above the table top. My table 6 gang also not enough, cos got so many chargers, fax machine, router, etc. Since got so many cables running from 1 end of the table to ther other, it is good to also consider a cable tray that will run horizontally, say from fax/printer to the computer to the telephone. wolflet 1 Report post Posted July 6, 2010 1 solution i came up with for my current study table at parent's room to hide all the wires and powerpoint is to have a groove at the rear part of the surface with a cover. and locate all the powerpoints in it. so the cables will be run into the groove and can be concealed inside. the contractor din do a very good job. but i feel its possible to make it better

Warrior88 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2010 Think this looks cool Netbox – Axial Netbox – Turn Comfort http://www.burland.com/netboxturn-comfort/
veer26 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2010 (edited) burland looks extremely expensive, and from what i know eubiq costs about a hundred bucks for 30-40cm? thats not counting the additional 3-pin adaptors that i'll probably need to get. as of now, the groove option seems the cheapest, and i could easily get a run of the mill extension. i'm still open to more ideas though. anyone else? thanks for the help.
