May_dream1 14 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 hahaha but hor to be frank, i think the catalogue looks nicer than the actual thing... cos i was so excited when browsing through the catalogue but when i eventually went there, got *a bit* disappointed what's the size of the 4-wheel trolley you saw on Howard's catalogue? Really?? Hmmm then really have to go see the real thing or else buy something that doesn't really look as good. I can't remember the size but it's smaller than ikea's. There are 2 models, one is just small trolley and another comes with top shelf so you can put some stuff on the top as well. So busy these few days that I don't get to go see yet. When I get the chance then will take pic for you to see.
froggy 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 actually if you don't really need a trolly (ie with wheels) you can even consider thiings like those yee sin storeroom racks. May not look as pleasant but I definitely think they are more sturdy. Can just paint the panels of wood accordingly to yr kitchen colour scheme, and you can have both a worktop plus storage below! Plus they can cater to the size yr require

marshmallow 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2011 Hi Marshmallow, can I check with u if your calypso is good ? I mean the cushion, durablity and maintenance, wife n me love the Calypso, we intend to get 1 also... hey bro! i only have my Calypso for slightly less than 8 months, can't comment too much on the durability yet but on the other 2 aspects: Cushion: i think it's comfy enough for me, but if you are one who like those very plush and soft type of sofa, then Calypso may not be soft or "bouncy" enough for you you may also wanna buy more cushions on your own, on top of the 5 that they will provide together with the sofa. Maintenance: so far so good, hubby will vacuum the sofa ones in a while. and sometimes if unfortunately small speck of black dust from my ceiling fan landed on the sofa, can be cleaned off quite easily using cloths damped with detergent. i asked in the Calypso sofa thread before, other forummers said can wash the covers in washing machine, but i haven't tried that yet (lazy la! ) some more poison for you (if you haven't yet checked this thread ): http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23515

I think the Calypso is available... I'm getting the Elda one... i like the resort-like feel of it... actually, does Cellini allows minor customization? coz the Elda one has sideboards at both side... the sideboard at the chaise lounge side... is so long... can i request them to reduce to equal length as the shorter side? marshmallow 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2011 Hey Sis Marshy, I understand need to top up quite alot if upgrade to leather back correct ?? I think I'll be getting the Calypso but in the package deal... okie i got 2 different replies when i visited 2 different outlets. 1st one: sales lady told me due to design of the sofa, definitely no way to do in leather. 2nd one: sales lady told me leather is possible, but can't get it in a package deal. (P.S.: we eventually bought from the 2nd one) we initially were very keen on having leather sofa, as hubby is scared of hot weather... almost dropped the idea of getting my Calypso becos we believed the 1st salesperson grrrrrr... only until much later then we read about someone upgrading to leather in renotalk... but by then we have already decided to get the Calypso we love, whether in leather or not so didn't even ask about how much to top up when we visited the 2nd time.
