Where To Find Storage Chest Like This?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking high and low for this kind of storage chest or something similiar, which I can use as my coffee table. Can anyone tell me if this is available in Singapore. Searching HIGH and LOW.... Haiz...

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

I saw one for sale at the expat auctions on Saturday (was just going to post something about the auction in a fresh thread!!)

also saw a few in David's antiques in Rangoon road.

Think they hold auctions every fortnight. The prices were ok, depending on the reserve placed by he owner. I got a solid wood study table estimated to sell at $350 for $200, very good condition, no scratches or anything and a pair of antique chairs with tea table for $300, estimate was $600. In some of the pieces sold, the prices went sky high, coz there were more than 3 people interested in the item!

It's really fun and something you should go experience if you like the type of furniture they sell (mostly antique/woody furniture but they had some contemporary pieces too) You can get more info at www.expatauctions.com

wow.. seems like a good deal! alright. i'll take note of their next auctions. will you be going for the one on 10th July? maybe i will bump into you.. haha...

actually, i don't mind those unwanted, garang guni ones. becos i thought i want to paint and distress it myself. i went to a couple shops selling those 2nd hand furniture but they don't have the chest box i wanted.

do you know of anywhere that has this kind of shops? or any other small small 2nd hand furniture shops that i can explore? i don't know where to find and the internet is not helping me much...

i have seen such boxes before. But the purpose of it is to put in lorry to store stuff, but can customise size.

saw it at Kai Lim (one huge hardware shop), not sure of the price though.

yep!! super good deal!! I can't make it to the July 10th as I'll be in Europe then one but will definitely go to the next one....

if you like garang guni type, i recommend this shop in rangoon road, david's antique, or this one in tanjong pagar (can't remember the name of the shop or the address) but it's right across Duxton road, run by this two old uncles..... if you want we can meet up to wade through the "junk" to find our "treasures!!" I have to go back to David's store to buy these 2 antique food carriers that I can't forget!!
