We Live Love Laugh

Recommended Posts

Thanks reglxt, I actually like the finished product very much.

The 2 segments on the far lef (horizontal+vertical) belongs to my wtb while the right 2 will be my share.

However, my wtb just hinted to me that I may have to hang my clothes elsewhere :bleah:

Very nice!!

oh yes, let me dress up the bare TV-console before i host up the pics.

Concealed TV console/shoe cabinet... I'm very intrigued.

Update; renovation of Live, Love Laugh had actually completed since last week,

took some 36 working days to fully done up the whole place.

Told my contractor to take his time (as we didn't intend to move in so soon)

.. and he really did. Haha.

will update the remaining works in due time, as well as feedback of various contractors.

Hi Dexufto

Congratulations! Your house reno is completed.

You have turned an empty house into a beautiful, cosy love nest to live, love and laugh with your dear wtb.

And, the make-over was a great, exciting, successful journey for you.

Inspite of the busy schedule, you are able to go to JB, and also keep up this T-Blog.

Pei fu, pei fu, ni.

Thank you ladies :)

After I look back a 6 months ago, from getting an apartment, to looking for contractor, hunting for bargins..

the very thought that this was only pereived on a piece of paper to life-size.

It is absolutely satisifying.

IMHO, I had a smooth renovation by Gods' Grace.

I hope that your renovation journey will be as smooth as mine.

Hang-in-there :)

Merry Christmas and happy boxing day one and all,

Spend a good whole day and night making my little apt look homely

All the cleaning and unboxing of electrical appliance are hardwork.

Speaking of which, I'm very depressed with the condition of my black solid-top,

It scratches like crazy and the marks are so, so evident.

Patches of blurred marks (looks like those burnt marks) are observed everywhere on my top.

my solid-top now looks like a 2-year old.

my wtb & I wanna cry liaoz.. :help:

The ceiling fan has been resolved.

Thanks gimz.

happy xmas... its a shame your black solid top is marred.... :( how did the scratch marks appear? dragging pots and glassware on the worktop? or u place boiling-hot stuff on the worktop surface? for acrylic-based worktops, always use some form of heat insulation mat to line (eg, cork board) the worktop before placing hot stuffs from them...

the marks should be able to polish and buff off, but it will be real stink and dusty during the process...

The puzzle is, we hadn't had any contact with the solidtop will Christmas when we started cleaning our stuffs,

we did some unwrapping of kitchenware, but it didn't occur to me that that the black solidtop is SO vurnerable to scratch.

Thanks, will head to DIY shop to check for any remedy. :unsure:

Ritez, answering my own quiries;

A bit of homework;

curtains.jpg

Will be engaging the home classic interior furnishing. The guys will be doing site measurements tomorrow.

Let's see how it goes.

A little late but better late than never;

Blinds, Curtain, Solar films.

Now I have my privacy against prying eyes :)

These qare essentials especially when you have a common corridor, or your neighbouring block is just a stone's throw away.

As previously mentioned I engaged Home classics Interior furnishing.

The aolar Film was installed by another contractor,

whist the company iinstalled the curtains and blinds.

They provided quality Vuitton blinds for my whole house;

Total damage for 4 blinds (including a 2 meters length at utility room, 2.4m full length curtain, 2 solar films) is $985.

wa, Louis Vuitton brand wor.... :D

tip: buy some white bumper stickers at hardware shops and paste along the bottom rod to prevent the poles from clanging onto the walls/grilles etc or anywhere that can come in contact whenever strong wind blows.....

There was some recommendation of doing a 2x 1m blinds from Mosses, the site-sales person.

His concern was that the mechanism may not be able to take the weight for the large blinds.

I insist on having one piece instead of 2, don't like the idea of a stray light in between the gap of 2 blinds.

moreover, one blind looks cleaner as well.

Eventually there was an upgrade in the mechanism (well, outwardly the physical item looks no different)

to fit the job.

Wah... very ah tas blind seh... haha :)

I think they really look great, now you make me wonder if I should still re-use the roller blinds that my ex-owner left behind... Original intent was to get someone to clean them up and re-use...

Sorry to hear about your solid top... Was it a Corian or LG Hi-Mac top?

Waiting impatiently for your after-reno pics :)

Slightly late but hope you and Neubie bro had a merry xmas :)

Haven't put up the pics for the curtains yet; here it goes:

Hi Istel, looks like you are doing well on your side too.

For a breif moment I was considering Ikea Blinds. But decided to pay a bit more; to do it good and do it once.

Prehaps you would ike to assess the current condition of the blinds as well as budget?

These are the things that you can always change anytime in the future; don't rush into a hasty decision.

Ya, the solidt-top was depressing.. haven't had a chance to pop by Home-fix to check out some quick fix for this issue.

Hiaz. No I didn't get those high-range solid-top; mine costs about only $70pfr.

DSCN2997.jpg

Not sure was it the quality of the solid-top or was it the black-colour of choice that results the scratches..

Given another chance, I would have rather gone for a studier Indian Granite :(
