Things just got BIGGER.

Finally ended my T.V hunt at the warehouse sales:

Eventually I was sold in getting my TV from Havey Norman: Samsung 50" Plasma 3D T.V. w/2 3D Glasses + starter kit

Purchased the bundled set of Samsung 3D Blu-ray w/ additional 3D Glasses + HDMI cables.

Original retail price of TV $5399 , 3D blue-ray player $799.

Purchase price: $2999.

When Phillips Warehouse sale was just over, here comes;

Gain City sale

4th Nov- 7th Nov

11am-9om

expo hall 6B

Havey Norman warehouse sale

5th Nov - 7th Nov

10am - 6pm

EMS Building, 60 Benoi Road

Anyone knows if Samsung ever had a warehouse sale?

I'm lusting after the LED 3Ds TV. :P

GC: 40"@ 2499 w/2 3D glass+HDMI cables, 46"@ 3499 w/2 3D glass+HDMI cables

Audiohse: 40"@ 2799 w/$499 netbook, 2 3D glasses, Blu-ray player

HN: 40"@ 2199 w/2 3D glasses, 2799 undled set w 3D blu-ray player+ additional googles

I bet I did;

Blew $475 on Phillips kitchen and electronic appliance.

And I got my 50" 3D TV + bluray player for $2999 from Havey Norman.

This is crazy. The price I paid was equivalent of 40" LED.

Have you chiong for any of the sales yet? Went to a number of recent roadshows and sales. Price like not much diff from in-store pricing...

Based on various forumnites' opinions, it seems like Audio House always chut lots of pattern when promoting but when it comes to delivery of what was promised... :/

I went to Buy Other Sound Equipment. ;)

fwah, what hts u order from overseas?

Yes, it does, SG distributor is selling at $5499, I'm getting it at half the price including shipping+ 7% GST.

However the only concern is warranty. :)

That sounds comforting.

Hi Gimz

according to the HDTV recommendations; the recommended viewing distance for 50" is 2m! :o

"Viewing Distances based on Visual Acuity: These distances are calculated based on the resolving power of the human eye (reference), or visual acuity. The human eye with 20/20 vision can detect or resolve details as small as 1/60th of a degree of arc. These distances represent the point beyond which some of the detail in the picture is no longer able to be resolved and "blends" with adjacent detail"

hey dex... ur calculation on viewing distance.

meaning for 3metres, its ok to go up to 50inch tv..? :)

081110 (day 23)

Citygas pipe installation

As I was on my way to my warsite when I recieved a phone call from Edmund my contractor, telling me that

I don't have to rush down.

Pretty much to my suprise; this Citygas team completed their job in half an hours time under the supervision

of my contractor.

They open up a new outlet and run the pipe to the opposite side of the kitchen where my hob will locate.

New copper pipe outlet from the original main green pipe.

At the same time a team sent from Imperial distributors come to wire up the A/C trunkings.

Strangly, the guy whom came for the actual site survey previously wasn't around.

The new installers were thus only armed with a floorplan, height and running of the pipe wasn't briefed.

So, I wonder what's the purpose of the previous site survey.

Thank God, main contractor is there to save the day.

All items were delivered and inspected. However I rejected the basin cabinet, a crack was observed.

The delivery guys just collected back the rejected items w/o futher questions

A/C trunkings completed.

-break week.-

I didn't expect any renovation to be going on,

as the project was halted for a week due to my HTS delivery. :(

I need to run the cables before I could install the false ceiling, thereafter the painting+ electrical works

could commence. Followed by kitchen cabinet then laminates.

Nevertheless, to my surprise, Edmund already already gone ahead with the painting, think he would touch up

again after the false ceiling has completed.

The painter/ plaster complained that the A/C trunking is badly done (my wtb echoed that),

alot of gaps were visible and he has to make good.

I gave a the A/C guys a benifit of doubt that they still have yet to install the fancoils; so shall not be too quick to

jump to conclusion. The pipes previously mentioned were meant to be concealed. :P

Speaking of pipes; the ugly obstructing pipes at the enterance of my showers were carefully rerouted to make

space. It looked alot better now. :bath:

Expected works for the following week;

Sun (today): off to JB for more lights shopping.

Tues: Installation of Main gate & grills. Site survey for false ceiling

Thurs: False Ceiling/ L-box

Fri: Electrical works

Recommendations needed.

Will also be looking into the following works

Will be making of:

1) Rollerblinds/ curtains/ solar flim

2) Retractable laundry system

Any recommendations?

According to some forummers suggestions, will just go for the cheapest blinds/curtains. :)

TIA.
