Waaa Black walls ... you gona need alot of downlights loh.

Because the nice cosy effect of downlights comes from the light rays bouncing off the walls

For black there will be less reflection of light.

Aiya better pain now then later suffer in darkness ......

if can still add on, better do so now while reno is ongoing. Believe me, a dark kitchen is the worst, esp if you or yr wife spend alot of time in it.

My house kitchen got not much sunlight, so I had to turn on the light even in mid afternoon! And bc the lighting point is in the centre, this means that the light source is back facing me while I work. I find this quite irritating as I have to keep trying to turn my body so as not to block the light.
