chival 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 Hi everyone, I am in need of some assistance. I am recently renovating my house and was intending to start sourcing for all the necessities. As usual being a 1st timer in buying furniture, I was very cautious and went to all shops and asked a lot of questions. It was relatively easy for sofas, coffee tables, chairs and consoles but it was very difficult to judge a mattress. I have been looking around at the top 3 mattress brands and found the following offers. (I am personally not a fan of Simmons. Sorry) Serta Aberdeen - Free 2 x nano gel pillows, the long pillow(requested freebie), mattress protector, bedlinen(requested freebie), 2 x counting sheep, 1 x couch, Frame & Princess Headboard @ $2200. (I never bargained for lower but was offered discount if I buy more beds and I actually need 3) Sealy Posturepedic Boston - Free 2 pillows, mattress protector, Frame & Headboard @ $1650. (Recommendation offer. Originally quoted $1699) I came into the forums and found that I forgot to ask, what are the additional benefits that came with these beds, (i.e. dust mite resistant, etc). Can anyone kindly advice me which is the better of the 2? I went online but I cannot find review for either beds but I do know that a lot of people promote Sealy mattresses and a few do say that Serta mattresses will sag badly after 2-3 years. Thank you in advance.
wolflet 1 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 from what i heard (friends and relatives) sealy mattresses tend to have quite severe motion transfer. so if its going to be slept by 2 persons, do not go for sealy. if its a single bed. then its very good.

wolflet 1 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 serta mattresses are mostly individual pocketed spring. only difference between models is the stiffness and also the top. comes in foam/memory foam/latex. we prefer latex, thats why we went for the sophistication. its up to individual. but i heard memory foam gets warm after lying on it for a while. most importantly, you have to try out the different models yourselves. expensive mattresses doesnt mean that its good. sometimes, other brands may have models that you feel more comfortable on. u can try max coil too, they have quite a decent range of mattresses and the prices are quite affordable.
