yummy 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 Okay made some purchases recently.. 1. Electrolux Front Loading Washing Machine (8kg) EWF1082 2.System 4 Air Con Mitsubishi We plan to put an air con in our living room. The air con guy suggested that we put it as indicated in blue on the diagram. The red is for the mirror wall we have planned for that area. Can't make the mirror full length any more... oh well Still have alot of decisions to make !! Thinking of having a black 4ft tv feature wall. Hubby wants a lightish console to go with it. I'm not convinced that it will look good cos of the dark wood. so anyone want to try to convince me?

yummy 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2010 wood for living area will definitely give nice cosy warm feeling. just choose the right colours of furniture to make it even better. Hi Pinktini.. yea we are def liking the warm cosy feel. Only thing is have to be real careful of the other colours that we are choosing so as to avoid the place becoming to dark. BTW, good news! Getting the keys on wednesday! omg cant hardly wait. countdown begins!! Problem with so much time is that we tend to keep chaning our minds in regards to the layout. one moment we dont want the balcony, want to make into a platform. then decide dont want platform. then decide want balcony. then decide want to shift tv area to the ex-study room (one wall to be hacked, doorway sealed up). now NOT SURE!! AIYO headache la.. but in the end we decided that we will look at the flat before making the final decision so EXCITED!!!

We also have the same problem, cannot make up our mind.. Sometime want this sometime want that... Very indecisive also. yummy 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2010 My hubby is the sweetest We had originally picked out our tiles and i had fallen in love with the master bedroom bathroom tiles. they were so hotel like! Yea, so when we got our keys to the house (the house itself has never been occupied, but the flat is 10yrs old) we realised that they laid new tiles in the bathroom for us!! well, not nice, but still new and we thought it might be a waste to re-do them. I was looking at the tiles and feeling so like "oh, how nice would it be to have these tiles instead of the ugly hdb tiles" so off i went on holiday and came back to the reno and what do i see??? THE LOVELY TILES!!! awww.. so sweet my hubby, did up the MBR bathroom with those tiles. i absolutely love them!! here's a sneak peek into our bathroom hehe this is our tv area Guest/study room (painted in ICI sandstone.. love the colour!) Baby's room (ashley blue.. i think the paint looks better in person. doesnt look quite right in the pic) MBR (spicy salsa) I like the colour of the MBR, but somehow it didnt turn out to be the exact shade of red i wanted.. bit bright, by my standards. Actually was always picturing the room with dark furniture to complement the wall, but now hubby says that might looked too cramped. i agree with him but he wants white and i'm not sure if it will go with the wall? what do u guys think? p.s. why does this silly imageshack rotate my pics when they were perfectly fine before? so annoying. hope u dont get a stiff neck from looking at my pics! yummy 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2010 Our reno is coming to an end! All the times spent discussing colour combination, designs, themes etc.. Everything is coming together infront of our eyes! Location: Foyer Plan: To have a shoe cabinet cum divider. Wanted something that won't make the area look cluttered. Rounded edges cos to be safe for children and clumsy wifey (aka me ;p) Tiles that don't clash with laminate flooring or are too busy. Foyer before reno Foyer sketchup Foyer after reno Mission accomplished? YES i think the foyer looks quite bright and uncluttered, changing the door to white was a good idea as it doesnt clutter the space. YAY well done!
yummy 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2010 Location: Dining/ Living Plan: wow, we had changed our plans for these areas so many times. Original plan was to hack the balcony and the wall separating the living and the study. Then seal up the original entrance to the study and create a long passage way to the bedrooms. The idea was to have a platform in the balcony and the dining area in the ex-study. However, later on we decided we wanted to keep the balcony as it was one of the reasons we wanted to get an EA. Because of this, the fact we wanted a foyer divider and also cos of the desire for a biiiiig sofa, we had to move our living area to the ex-study and put the dining area in the space between the balcony and the foyer. Another change we made was to the flooring. Originally we wanted big white glossy tiles. Then we wanted just the living area in laminates. Later we decided we liked the look and feel of laminates so we did the whole house (except balcony, foyer, kitchen and bathrooms) in laminates. Here are the pictures of the dining/living Before Sketchup After
yummy 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 Here's another view of the dining/living, with a glimpse of the balcony. ahhh it looks so nice bare.. hopefully we can get nice furniture that won't clutter or take away the attractiveness of the space!
