What Do You Do With Power Supply?

Hi

what is the usual procedure with regards to singapore power?

Does the seller terminate the account, then buyer re-apply upon second appt? Or can a transfer be done?

How many days does SP need to re-introduce supply to the flat?

Just ask the agent to do an account transfer for you, easier. :) My agent did it for me on the 2nd appt.

If terminate account and reapply, need about 1 week to resume power.

U r lucky, i waited for a week plus because Power was performing system upgrade during my application. I even went all the way up to their manager, talk talk talk and talk .... but no. Come on, they are not flexible, how to do biz? They r lucky cause they monopolies the market now. Otherwise i would have moved to other provider.

Why can't they sent someone to turn it on and do the paper work later.

Transfer account quite troublesome if you dont have agent to service you as you need the buyer and seller to sign and the meter readings. Then if you dont co-ordinate the date correctly and owner is still there after 2nd appointment, the new owner becomes liable to pay.

Seller must cooperate = clear the outstanding, otherwise buyer's account cannot be created. Say, seller takes over on 15/6/01, buyer(corrected)pays the outstanding to pub first, then apportion the 15 days & get money from seller later. Only then can "transfer" names online.

My friend was the house's seller. It took her buyer 1 week to get back their power supply after she terminated it.

I didn't want to do transfer account. I don't want to have any dealing with them.

The seller refused to talk to us directly, everything must thru' agent.

We call and double check with the agent that they will shift out on 26 May.

First say , will pass the key to us on noon. Then 6pm , then 8pm, then 10pm.

They thrown the key inside the letter box and tell the agent to tell us.

They will keep the letter box key.

Keep lor keep lor.

I intent to change the letter box key no matter what.

But I would say, at least they clear the whole house. Didn't left any furniture behind.

Stay far far away from those who cannot keep promise/s. Such a simple thing also can't comply, don't know what is life to them.

ya lor.

luckily we stay nearby, walking distance.

Or else.. 10pm still had to rush down to look at the unit , check the condition.

Their agent say they book a big lorry, who know come a small lorry. That's why need to round a few round.

we were thinking, My problem ah?

We already very good liao, let them stay for 3 mth after 2nd appointment.

i did mine by calling up SP services hotline. just told them i wanna take over the supply on this date. and they went up to take the meter reading. no signature on my part

They should have asked you for permission whether it's ok for them to retain the letterbox key. They are behaving as if they are your boss. No wonder you don't have to have anything to do with them.

Permission.. don't think their dictionary has this word.

They claim they pay rental so they had the right to stay until the last day.

They even chain the main gate and refused to let us bring contractor to view and discuss abt the renovation.

Which we did inform them during the 2nd appointment or before, that we might bring contractor to see the house.

At the time, say.. okok.. just give us a call or SMS us.

We SMS few time, they never return our SMS.

When we bring the contractor up, they scold us right infront of the contractor, say they pay rental. We don't have the right to come to the house. and bang the main door.

next time if i have the chance to buy/sell,die die also i must ensure everything go according to rule - no early, no late, must be exact on second appt.

thanks for the advice on SP. Will call the buyer to do transfer.
