true, but like that alot of headache for you to coordinate, and believe me, it's not really fun having to do that if it involves too many parties. For me, i prefer to let one person handle. Another plus point is - touch woor, but if anything happens, no one can point finger at another. But of course, it's yr house and yr show la

yup me too, no time to coordinate. initially wan to DIY project management and get sub con myself like ossify but buay sai leh, too busy. even now, i always depend on Edmund to do checks n i try to check when back from work. luckily for me new place near where i'm staying now so easier to coordinate and check.

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

typing in a post in case this t-blog goes out of the forum...

tonight will be meeting one of the designers we have met last last week - this would be our 2nd meeting.

we have basically narrowed down our search to 2 designers, so now we are at the stage where we are discussing price...

if all fails, we will take the design and pass this to DX....

lots of things happening lately...once everything has been settled, will post more!

one thing i like about coordinating yourself is that you really learn a lot (since everything is new) and that everything can be done according to your requirement, down to the last tile. so a lot of personalization and details goes into the whole process.

this looks scary.. what do you mean by "goes out of the forum"?

btw, does pixelated house mean that you will be having a lot of mosaic?

ossify

another defination of "pixelated" means "slightly insane"....that's what i ultimately wish my house to look like - a bit weird, yet uniform

ok too contradicting...

i "may" be having mosaic floor in kitchen (a portion of it) plus mosaic covered kitchen celing beam...

updates:

hunt for ID....OVER!! yipee!

we used back the same ID we had for our current place.

they gave us a qute of 53k *faint*, and after much changes made to the configuration, and haggling in prices, the quotation is at least 10k lesser. I was told that we were given "rock bottom" rates with not much profit for them.

bullcrap

anyway they were expensive to begin with so we'll have to accept that.

next Tuesday we will be going to their office to ink the contract, as well as narrowing down our choices for the tiles & stuff, so that they can come up with some 3d or perspective drawings

by then, every details has to be finalised, permits applied, fixtures and furniture bought and paid for. because we only have 6 weeks for reno and there's no time to do the shopping during reno

oh really? ok then i will look forward to your posts in your t-blog :D

yesterday, we gave a deposit to the ID and we were promised with 3D drawings 2 weeks later. and we have to choose laminates + colours etc at that time

also, we selected some tiles so that the ID could come up with a more realistic 3D drawing. but i am still not very keen on my toilet wall tile colour......hmmm...

hello everyone!!

a short hiatus from renotalk, simply because i wasnt feeling well the whole time.

i suddenly thought about the fiber optic openNet thingy.....

i can see that the block is fiber ready (information from www.opennet.com.sg). but how can i check (not through seller) with openNet if my unit has already installed the fiber?

hmmmmmmmm

wow long time no see... how's your reno coming along? :)

if your unit is already installed with Opennet, there should be a termination box in your home... white colour one i think. opennet website has a photo of how the box looks like...
